F90 M5 Unknown ANNOYING Noise

Starting a new thread on this topic since since large number of F90 are being affected. Please post reply if you have the same problem.
Let's solve this together.

My new F90 M5 makes really annoying, disturbing, weird, embarrassing air leaking/metal scratching type of sound

To see if your M5 makes the same noise, turn off the music and refer to my reproduction conditions below.

The conditions observed so far for me are:
- Occurs at low speed between 15-40 mph. (worst and most often at around 20 mph)
- Happens more when outside temperature is cool or cold
- When car has cooled down for enough time. A day or overnight
- Either when gas pedal is pushed or released
- Does not happen when not moving
- Sound goes away after driving for a while or highway

It's the kind of sound when huge bus or trucks make when they stop and go.
I have been working with my dealerships service center for the last 3 months but no fix yet but I'm taking it in for another check this week.

Will keep this thread updated and hope to hear from others too.

Below is my M5's log.

I had a sound like that, ended up being rear shock and upper mount.

It would come and go, but more so when it was cold. - the only way I could get it to reproduce on command was driving over a speed bump slowly.

Wtf is my wife doing in your car making her usual noises? Lol.

Actually, that's an odd sound. Something not right.

This may not be it at all, but here goes. This drew my attention:

- Either when gas pedal is pushed or released

Could it be the seat? Your body will shift as the car accelerates and decelerates, particularly at lower speeds. I had a problem with the seat in my M550ix, though the sound differed (more of a pop), and the M550 has different seats from the M5.

Thread here: https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1560595

To see if it is the seat, try sitting in the car, while stopped, and engine off. Then put your foot on the footwell and push back into the seat as if you are accelerating. See if that pushes your butt down and makes the noise.

I don't think anything in the seat could make that sort of prolonged kazoo sound.

Something is being actuated.

Actually...thinking about how a kazoo works...I bet it's some sort of gasket or weather stripping that's catching air and vibrating.

No definitely not the seat. Sound comes from outside of the car body. with windows up, I can hear it from inside but it comes from rear right underneath the trunk

Thanks!
I'm putting so much effort to stay calm. Not sure how much longer I can maintain patience.

Did you take it in for service and fixed it?
Mine happens without bumps on flat road.

Exactly the same I was thinking.
Same mechanism of how your fart make sound.
It does sound like some air leaking and vibrating metal or how to put it, air scratching metal part?

But it's not from the engine room. It is coming from rear part of the car. (I think)

Just took it in today. Got brand new 750i as loaner.

Nice car! No comparison to M5 in terms of fun driving but damn the ride is so smooth. It just licks all the holes on the road(pot holes, manholes).

Often 1-2 seconds but I have experienced 3-4 seconds of continuous squeal. Often when coming on or off the throttle at low speed. I'm leaning more to suspension adjustment because it goes away as though the car has adjusted to a changed load.

Alright, I'm changing my guess to its being "something" unrelated to engine mounts.

Have side skirts, PPF, or other mods been added to these cars?
