Just to correct you, it is not coding the BDC with the lci file as the LCI G30 has BDC3 and pre lci has BDC2.

Yes also very much interested. Getting the parts is straightforward but not being stuck with expensive paper weights is the concern if coding and wiring is a major hassle. I wonder if the same coding and wiring is needed in the LCI US versions with the red blinkers. After seeing them it seems that they also have the indicator strip and brake light when the turn signal is on. Would also be nice to finally get LED reverse lights with this upgrade

I found the retrofit instructions in German and translated it to English. Some things got lost in translation with formatting issues.

Also found a site in Korean with some pictures, which I converted to English. If you open it in Google Chrome it will automatically translate it.

https://m.cafe.naver.com/ca-fe/web/c...seCafeId=false

Hope this helps.

Based on this I just need to figure out what pins for the inside lights? No need to go to bdc.

What's the trick to get the pins out from inside lights? There is no push pin place for it.

Unplug the connector, and unlock the lock on the side of the connector.

Then, there are 2 holes for each pin. Use the smaller hole, and insert a small screwdriver in there, that will allow you to unlock the metal pin. And then you can pull it out to rearrange.

Just installed US lights.

https://youtu.be/2Ta8HrLv79w

What did I do wrong to the trunk lights? Or will coding fix this? I also didn’t run wires to the BDC as I was told it’s not needed on US cars with US lights.

Did you change the order of the pins on inner lights? Your lights also seem not coded at all, based on how they are working right now...

I tested the inner lights without re-pinning and it wouldn't even turn on. After re-pinning I only get the inner lights to turn on when headlights are on and welcome lights.

US plugs only have 4 wires and the colors are different from the left light to right. Could you please confirm the colors from 1-6 on the left and then on the right?

Left
• YELLOW/BROWN wire to 2
• YELLOW/BLACK wire to 3
• BLUE/RED wire to 4
• BROWN wire to 6

Right
• BLUE/BLACK wire to 2;
• YELLOW wire to 3;
• BLUE/WHITE wire to 4
• BROWN wire to 6

Are you welcome lights working properly? Those lights that light up for the first 15 seconds since opening the car.

So far nobody was able to figure how to make USA red lights work with welcome lights, without compromising the other functions of the lights.

So when you are testing your lights, test them after your welcome lights turn off. Start the car only after welcome lights shut off.

Also I would suggest to turn off welcome lights in idrive for now.

Also based on your video, the reverse bulbs were not coded and changed to LED type, as I see them blinking periodically

Only the trunk welcome lights turn on. Yes, the led reverse flickered and will need coding. I don't have any malfunction lights turned on yet but I haven't driven my car yet.

I wanted to program it, but the coded said I need to run wires to the BDC. Without it, the outer turn signals won't work.

I took your advise and turned off the welcome light.

Please post a video of how yours is working after coding and no BDC wires.

Mine work 100%, except the welcome lights. Again USA/Canadian cars do not need the extra BDC wires. Sounds like your coder only done European cars.

Msg this guy on Whatsup, his name is Vick, the same person I linked above from bimmercoder. He will get you coded and everything will work 100%, except the welcome lights +60 12-396 9654.

Excellent - thanks for sharing the video. I actually only want the thin signal strip to light up but this works as well. I will reach out to Vic.

I just got mine from bmw Yesterday. Gave them part numbers on Wednesday and it was here Friday.

Side note: there is no welcome light fix yet with USA spec lights. Our lights have only 4 connections on the light side and only 4 wires coming from bdc. Even if u have 5 wires coming from bdc it wouldn't matter as lights have only 4 connections. I have worked with Vick with opening bdc and changing pins but it wasn't any use.
