There's a dude in another thread who says he's in the process of changing out the lights. (Reference below post for a link to that thread.) Perhaps he can chime in here and tell everyone what is involved.

Requires rewiring and coding if I recall. Another thread talks about it.

Howdy, the switch out has been delayed due to family health stuff though I fully intend on doing it. Working with my BMW guy now to see exactly what it'll take and will let everyone know. I realize this is completely personal preference, I was planning on tinting the outer edge of my lights and BMW kinda did it for me. I will be sure to circle back.

ECE part numbers for the LCI tail lights.

I was informed the tail lights would not ship from Germany until 09/20/20, due to production delays.

I did the Euro swap on my X4. I think all G-series are similar in that the coding is the same...the G30 got lucky, no extra wiring is necessary to the BDC (for the X3/4 models it is necessary)...I'll be posting a 'how to' soon...here's the teaser https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=13

Bought the lights from a main dealer, will also need the 4 cover trims as they are a different shape. Fitting is straight forward on the outers, the inners will need to be repined on the plug and some additional wires from the BDC. All will need the coding.

Anyone in the UK, i can put you in touch with the chap that done the coding and wiring
They're a great upgrade. Really good job on the LCI from BMW 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

That’s not the oem cockpit, a Chinese copy no doubt.

And you lost me at rewiring to the BDC. Oh well. Lol
It requires some intricate re-pinning and expertise but not impossible

Yeah, we need some part numbers. I don't see any OEM part websites reporting 2021 parts yet.

Keep in mind that the part numbers and design for the US vs ROW taillights are different and require separate coding.

There is no way those slim rear turn signals meet the regulatory surface area requirements, here in the US.
