The cars software (ECU and all the various modules) version number is held in your car keys memory.
You can ask your friendly service assistant in any BMW garage to print off the data held on your key.

The relevant bit is something like:
Integration plant...the software version the car left the factory with.
Integration level...the current software version if its been updated since.

S15A-19-11-555:
19-11 means November 2019
555 IIRC relates to the software version number
S15A IIRC relates to the car.

Yes I have the sports exhaust option and have complained to BMW about the lack of noise, the outcome it is a EU Reg change and nothing can be done about it. I was annoyed that I paid extra for the sports exhaust to get no more noise.

Weird that my car (admittedly an earlier build than yours) with the same software as you, sounds as loud (burbles and bangs included) if not louder than on my old software.

OPF Issues...

My car has been terrible since I hit 8000 miles, its a UK July 2019 build BMW M5 F90.. standard with M Sport Exhaust.

During disengagement of the accelerator the engine speed decreases too slowly.

The overrun fuel cutoff is not working, the braking effect of the engine is not always present and fuel is being consumed when off the accelerator at a high rate, can be seen in the fuel mpg gauge.

If the accelerator is pressed and the revs climb above 3000rpm when stationary the engine speed sometimes drops too slowly.

There is no relevant error entered in the DME fault code memory.

Apparently BMW say: All your issues we published with dealerships last year, all in relation to the OPF/PPF Petrol Particular Filter, so my OPF is trying to clear itself of bad pollutants but has to chuck loads of fuel in to it to resolve it. So it needs to have the right conditions etc. I was advised this is normal and the characteristics of all cars now fitted with the OPF/PPF filter, the car is trying to continually clean and remove bad pollutants, with it being colder months this might be producing more than normal, but it should improve. The said all M5's have been removed from track races due to this issue.

So this has not improved and it seems to do this in every mode possible and however hard or softly I drive it, I'm currently getting around 19MPG sat at 70mph on the motorway vs before this happening I was getting around 34mpg. The car is so consistently unpredictable and unsafe if driving hard due to zero engine breaking. I have attached some videos for you all to see, can someone please put me out of my misery and agree this isn't right. The car has done 8000 miles and never missed a beat before this happened, also when this happens the car stops making its backfires completely. The car stops better if I put it into neutral and brake. Has anyone experienced this or know what it is?

I'm not getting cracked brake Disks and I imagine that's due to braking against the car trying to drive. I have stopped paying for the car and written to the CEO of BMW UK and copied Customer Service in. We can see what happens.

Would be interested to see if anyone is having or heard of similar problems.

Cheers

Your dropbox links are not working. I guess it would be easier for most if you upload to Youtube or something.

On the topic of engine breaking, I've felt it lacking in all F90s I've driven, which I believe is mostly due to the torque converter transmission. It's one of the main reasons I got me a Porsche and delegated the M5 to driving the kids around only.

You accidentaly posted this to thread related to lack of backfires and burbles. It would work better somewhere else in proper place

Is it safe to say pre July 2019 cars ID6 = pops and bangs, post ID7 = no pops and bangs?
