Tyre Pressures

All

Just had to replace a front tyre for a puncture, very annoying when loads of tread left!

BMW have reset the tyre pressure monitoring system for the 20" inch tyres and it is recommending 2.8 / 2.9 bar for the front / rear.

This compares to the plate on the drivers door which suggests 2.4 / 2.5 for the front / rear? I usually follow the plate as with all cars.

What do other people do? Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks
Mark

It should 2.4/2.5 and you will need a software update as the idrive was set incorrectly from the factory and is a common problem. You may find if you put the correct pressures in the car the idrive will tell you the pressures are too low and keep bringing a warning up.

Ignore the door card. I had the same issue, two different dealers have the same reason, the card pressures are for std cars, not the M5.
Also made a call to BMW uk, who also gave the same answer.
Once I had increased mine, better handing and a better fuel return.
If you choose to use the settings on the door card, ensure the pressures are set when cold, and then do the reset so the car knows what the base setting is.
At the end of the day, it's your call, but can i suggest you check as I did.

If you have MDrivers pack then idrive will want the 2.8/2.9 bar which is 40/42psi. Else it should be around 32/34psi as per door card. There was a bug in idrive that wants 2.8/2.9 bar even if you don't have MDrivers pack. A software update will sort it.
