Anyone used this for Break Squeal?
https://www.ate-info.de/en/details/p...astilube-75-ml
Looks like its made by an official BMW supplier. Its cheap and seems easy to apply. Anyone ever used it??? I wonder if its something you need to re-apply often or if you can just have it applied at each service and be good. Any insight is appreciated! Youd have to take off the wheels. As I understand it this is supposed to be applied to the back of the brake pad BACKING plate. It is not supposed to be used on the pad surface themselves.

If you squeal when something breaks you can try Headspace. It’s an app on meditation. I just wanted to brake in hear and let that lose.

Did you bed the new brake pads after they were first installed?

I've had the ACG pads on for about 1 1/2 years iiirc and they have recently started to squeal intermittently.
It is always in city driving and cured with a hard stop. Nowhere near as bad as the OEMs were and dust remains vastly improved vs OEM.

Doesn't matter if you bedded or not. If you drive around town braking slowly and easily you will start to get squeal. Just brake later and firmer a few times and it will go away. Make a habit of driving like that and you won't get squeal in the first place. It's not rocket science. High performance brakes will squeal if you are dragging them into stops all the time.

This seems to be the only way, at least for me, to keep them from sounding like a school bus when coming to a stop. However, the look on peoples faces in their rearview mirror when I come roaring up behind them is priceless. |

It doesn't even take jamming on the brakes to avoid the squeal. Just a firm pedal versus the drag. What causes the squealing is the habit of stopping by gently dragging the brake pedal with light pressure and slowly adding pressure to the minimum point required to stop the car smoothly. That's how most people typically drive a car around town. But with high performance brakes, if you don't want the squeal, you simply have to wait longer and apply a firm pedal, going from zero brake pressure to the amount required to fully stop the car in a shorter time. It will take a few very firm 50-5mph braking cycles to get rid of the squeal if you have it, but only simple firm stops to keep it away.
