Thank you for this advice. I am keeping an eye out but I also noticed that when searching Tirerack by size instead of vehicle type, I find 275/35/20 and 285/35/20 XLs with 102V and 104W weight/speed ratings, but they aren't BMW specific seems to be only difference and maybe the speed ratings lower (but I'm not won't be doing over 149 rain, snow or shine).

Is there any reason these wouldn't work? Tirerack says that these specific Pirelli's are not designed for BMW, but what does that matter if all the major specs work?
This is a screenshot I took of the tirerack page when it was available when searching by make and model.
This is for a comp with standard brakes.
Only the front is different from a v to a w.

Thanks Oswiff!! So I save $120 on the fronts in exchange for a 149 max speed vs the 168 that exceeds the 155 limiter anyhow (and again, I won't be anywhere near these speeds).

No problem. I'm not a tire expert but I think you should be good with the available set.

I can say that I had these tires on my last m5 and it was terrific in the snow.

Anyone swap the wheels and tires at home? I have my winter tires on 19inch rims and I'm too busy to drop it off at the dealers for the swap. Might tackle it myself if I can get my hands on the right tools

Was thinking the same thing as I just ordered wheels to go on my winter tires.

I figured I would need:
- floor jack - $120 from harbor freight (not the stand jack)
- impact drill - on sale at HD now for $200
- torque wrench - $50
- sockets - $30 for a set

So all in, I'm investing a little over $400 including tax.

However my local tire shop will swap a set of wheel and tires for $30 plus tax.
So it's going to take me 6.5 years to recoup my investment.

Sure there's the time of having to bring the wheels and the car and wait around for it, but that would only be about an hour per year.

But I'm still considering it!

Hi guys,

Just got 21 m5 comp and now I’m looking for winter tires / all season (due to limited availability)

Can I do either 275 or 285 square setup instead of oem staggered? Tia.

Hi,

Thanks for reply!
I just wanted to make sure I can do square setup without any offset calculations and/or spacers like that for clearances (I'm not really a car expert for this kinda stuff)

Would it be better to have 275 squared setup compared to 285 for better clearance?

The 705m 19 setup should be fine square (believe it's 26 offset on the 9.5). Can someone else confirm that I remember correctly?

Morning Gents,

I was just on the TR site, to check out the supply and demand and they have nothing in stock at all for the M5!!! Reason I was looking, is that my '18 M5 went back on lease, so I am now selling my set of 20" Sotto Zero Serie 2s. Somebody posted the screen shot above, which reflects what they are worth new. I used them sparingly for 3 winter seasons. The snows performed flawlessly and during storms, I was actually passing SUVs and the likes, which were floundering on hills w/ all seasons. Whomever is interested PM me for pics, offers, etc.
