I have a July build iDrive car. I dont have this feature. Nor do i have the DRL feature, although the dealer did turn them on for me. If i want to turn the DRL's off I will have to take it to the dealer instead of doing it through iDrive.

I have MP3 functionality since January. I think i have CIP 20.0.1

I stopped tracking this. Maybe i will take my car to have the latest software added.

I guess my point is, I have a brand new car produced April 2006 and SHOULD have all the latest software including Parked Car Ventilation.

Any reason why this option would be disabled (i.e. greyed out) in the iDrive menu?

The Parked Car Ventilation checkbox is supposed to be greyed out. You can only use it to turn off the automatic ventilation if it is already running. If you set the activation time and check the timer 1 box then it should turn on at the time you set it to. A quick & cool way to set the time is to just say "activation time", say the time, and it will ask you if you want to enable it.

Thank you slicck. I should try that. It's just strange because the manual says you turn on/off the function by checking the box (and it is not greyed out in the manual). (See post http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ar+Ventilation )

I'll try just setting a time. Does it just turn on the climate control to what it is last set on?

Thanks.

Well I forgot all about this post. Just went out to try and I DID NOT get a <parked> option when pressing the menu button. Can't say I'm surprised though. I haven't had time to look at any manuals so I can't confirm what's in them. March 06 build no iDrive.

Another great example of a thread that makes this list so useful! But damn, now you have me thinking I need I-drive.

Jonathon, if you are working up a piece on CCC uses, maybe you could post a list of the differences btw the computers, and their practical consequences.

I uploaded the September 2005 manual (IDRIVE) on the download section here.
PCV is mentioned in there on p101.

I also have the September 2005 manual (NON-IDRIVE) here.

There is certainly no mention of PCV for non-idrive cars.

Manually turning on parked car ventilation

If the parked car ventilation is "greyed out" turn off the car, re-enter the menu and it will work. Then you can turn it on manually. It took me forever to figure this out!

Look at the "Professional radio manual" for details. The feature has a * next to it i.e. it is an option. So depending on the model, engine, country or package one migh have this option.

Nothing else. Certainly no timer.

WTF?
You, like me, probably have a pre-October 2005 build date with iDrive.

I also don't have this feature on my June 2005 production car. (And I sure wish I did as it's getting hotter here in Boston.)

Thank you! After reading your post I tried it on my car and it worked great My car was built in April '06.

This feature will come in handy this summer especially given that I have black interior.

Didn't notice this thread before. I have to agree though, that parked car ventilation feature is awesome. I set my timers almost everyday when I go to work. Just set it to 11:15 my car is nice and fresh when I go out to lunch.

It turns on the fan to bring fresh air into the car. It does drain battery though. In the manual it suggests only use this twice per power down.

Wow, great find. Why don't the salesman talk abou this feature, this is a great selling point especially for Florida residents. This will come in handy in the summer. I need to stop coming to this forum, it's getting me depressed waiting for the 07 335 E90 to come out and now I will definately be getting i-drive, especially if this PCV is voice activated.

Would you like to buy a vowel, specifically "ä" so you don´t insult the Fräulein !
