I hope AutoTalent placed my order from Friday. I cancelled my order with DanaPort aka MBenzgram, which seemed sort of sketchy and told me on Friday that the manufacturer had extended the back order to 6/30 when Dinan had just written there was no back order.
Edit: AutoTalent reported out of stock. Should have just ordered from Dinan on Friday and maybe I would have made the window. I can wait. Last edited by pbonsalb; 06-20-2022 at 05:43 PM.. |

I had the same experience with DanaPort. The only reason I even ordered from them is because they were the first thing that came up when I googled. Month of run arounds so now I am in the queue for whenever they might show up again. Lesson learned... Definitely much better to stick with the vendors who support the forum!

Installed my Inlet and Intakes last night. This is the best mod I have done to 3 different M cars now. The build quality is beyond my expectations. The size differences between the factory upper airbox and the inlet tubes is staggering when viewing in person. What a difference! Yesterday, was a huge day as I also installed my Akra full exhaust lol. Also, turbo spool sound is greatly increased.

Take your time. Everything lines up perfectly and if it doesn't you probably have a small hose in the way. Turbo inlets-The retaining clips on the turbo inlets take a bit of toying with to get loose. The factory turbo inlets have an interior gasket where they meet the turbo so once the retaining clip is loose just wiggle the turbo inlet gently until that fitting tight gasket lets loose. Dinan airbox-When you go to re-install the new modified airbox pay attention to the front side (towards the front of the car). There is an opening that slides almost straight down and "clicks" into place. Work that side first and everything will literally just fall right into place. |

I just read the instructions and I was surprised to see that there is cutting involved for the intake. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this on this forum |

Regarding the cutting-The part you cut is a thin rubber seal/gasket by the radiator support. It’s more of a rubber flap to keep water out from what I can tell. I used a pair of small nippers to trim it up, then a Dremel to make the 14inch horizontal cut. It took less than 1 minute. You could easily replace that flap if you wanted too later (ex: turning the car back in off lease) |

Just installed my inlet tubes. Relatively straight forward, except getting the spring clip off the stock tube was a total PITA.
Waiting until tomorrow morning for a test run as it is currently 99* outside. |
