My Ultimate PCD Experience

So... I had SUPER high expectations for my Performance Center Delivery; I had been planning this for over 8 years (yes, I keep my cars for a long time). I don't want to bore you with too many details, but the weekend could not have been better... I actually started to ask myself if a BMW could be a good luck charm. Check out how the whole experience exceeded my expectations... then enjoy some pictures:
  1. Favorite buddy from Atlanta was able to join me for the weekend.
  2. Plane ticket from ORD to ATL was only $68 including Fees.
  3. Got upgraded to First Class (no add'l fees... $68 Total).
  4. Landed at the closest gate to the airport exit.
  5. My buddy was waiting in his 325i right outside the first exit.
  6. Marriott accommodations were great (double shower head was more than a little odd).
  7. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake!
  8. BMWs EVERYWHERE!
  9. My car was the first one on display when entering the PC.
  10. Does BMW water taste better??? I think so!
  11. FREAKING EPIC DRIVING EXPERIENCE!
  12. I was the first one to receive delivery that day.
  13. Lunch at the ///M Cafe... the food was as good as the ambiance!
  14. Cool tour of the BMW factory in Spartanburg (solidified my respect for the brand).
  15. Observed them "spank the baby" on a new X4, cheers all around!
  16. Toured Zentrum... including some great pictures out front.
  17. Drove back to Atlanta in about 10 minutes (okay 2 hours, but it only felt like 10 minutes).
  18. Spent the next morning on a wave-runner at Lake Lanier.
  19. Got upgraded to a HUGE suite at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington.
  20. Parked my baby in it's new home... then went for another ride

My new good luck charm will continue to provide epic experiences... I just hit the 1200 mile finish line for break in period and she wouldn't slow down!

That garage bro...basic.

Jk, awesome post, glad you had a great experience. BMW seems really good at bringing in "brand evangelicals" (as they would call it in marketing speak) to the brand by offering things like this to owners.

Congrats! I think Chicago is a great place from which to do PCD; such easy access to GSP from either MDW or ORD. Which dealer did you use?

I know, I know... I'm perfectly happy with my little 1 car garage, I kindly let my wife have the roomier 2-car garage for her giant SUV... the bonus is that i don't have to face the danger of the kid's bikes

Thanks!

I previously drove a 2007 Infiniti G35... I desperately wanted an E90 335i when I bought it, but was forced to buy a car 8 months earlier than planned (couldn't afford the 10K more) because I was in the dead center of a 5 car accident... I liked the Infiniti, but regretted the decision from the beginning. I'll never make that mistake again, I should have driven a beater for 8 months and bought the E90. I'm happy now, that's what matters

Agree... Chicago is the perfect distance for PCD!

I looked at 10 different dealers, and though I only live about 1/2 mile from MotorWerks, I ended up buying from Crystal Lake... the smallest dealer of them all, but they had the best price and the people were great to work with. Elmhurst BMW was the runner-up, I got great service/response from them as well. Though BMW of Crystal Lake had the lowest price, the whole Chicago/Illinois/Cook/DuPage Sales Tax debacle helped me make the final decision.
