ALmost anything. Remember to keep your parts to return to original form, or else you WILL be raped by the dealership on return. Basically anything that bolts on, is fair game (wheels, piggyback ECUs, CF Trunk lids etc). Avoid drilling, cutting or "making it fit".

i would just say, avoid cutting anything, and also try not to make any drastic engine changes such as mods that CANT be reversed.

im leasing too! there's pretty much no mod that you canno reverse, but that's at a cost, so try to minimize those.
i'd avoid exhaust, changing turbos, etc.
i changed my wheels but keeping my originals, i did tint, which his okay and a few other cosmetic mods that i can reserve if i have to.

I am considering it, the install seems painless enough and does not involve any cutting. It can be reversed when ready.

15 minutes to return back to stock with the PROcede. The only question is, many dealers are trying to figure out whether you've put it in or not and if they can or do, well...they have a big reason to void your warranty on some things, like say if your fuel pump fails.

I would imagine the painted reflectors and rims would have to be undone, if they notice them when you turn it in.

Tints are potentially okay if you can take them off. Painted reflectors are a no because it's illegal in the US to not have any amber. You will need to purchase another set of reflectors because if you take them off you won't be able to put them back on. Rims need to relatively be in the condition they were when you got the car. Unless you plan on buying another set of 189s, I'd say go for a different set of wheels.

As long as it is OEM BMW parts and considered an upgrade, its fine to leave on, ie. an M steering wheel. If they are non OEM BMW they must be removed prior to returning the lease. An exception to that would be runflats which must be on car when returned.

That's the thing. I really want to get another set of wheels, black ones. But the rims that im looking for are expensive. And I dont want to go cheap on my bmw but...it's a lease. I want to power coat my OEM rims black. I dont want to spend 4-5K on rims + tires.

You have a BMW..do it right or leave it stock and don't do it at all.

As far as your question on what you can do..you can do anything to your heart's content as long as you bring it back stock. A friend of mine leased an S2000, and in the 3 years of leasing, he supercharged it at one point. He returned it back to stock when the lease was up.

It's not 'trouble' when you enjoy working on the car. He worked on the car himself, so labor is free per se. The car has seen many track days and he had his fun. So I'd say yes, it was worth it for him.

PS...modifying a car is a hobby...so expect to lose money

Yep. Even say if you cut off the OEM mufflers, you can have them rewelded back on. I doubt they'll look under the car to see the weld marks.
