Only lower the front?

Hi all,

I'm satisfied with the rear height, the front it about an inch to high imo. Is it a crazy idea to only install the M550i springs in the front and leave the rear stock? I think a drop in the rear would be too much and start to look a little tacky.

I'm interested in this too. I feel like my rear is pretty good but the front could use a slight drop.

I installed the fronts today. Car drives absolutly mint, I'll post pics tomorrow. The job was awful I regret not waiting for a shop to install them.

If u lower your car with M550i springs and keep your rears OEM it will throw off your car’s suspension in a negative way in the corners when driving aggressively. Soft in front in stiff in the back is not ideal.

I’m lowered on M550i all round and car is not as stiff and solid cornering.

If I could do it again I would have went with M5 H&R springs. All pictures of springs on line are right after install but spring settle another 1/4 of inch making M550i spring very aggressive.

I think i may be rubbing in the front on the m550i springs.

13.5mm from ECS. It's difficult to get the assembly in and out of the wheel well. You'll do much better if you have 2 strong guys. One to push the lower assembly down and the other to clear the top of the strut. Otherwise, it was easy and took about 2 hours per corner because I spent a while fighting with getting the strut out and back in.

You are fighting the swaybar; undoing one end link helps.

Yea i removed the upper sway end link, it was the axel that was in the way. The strut fork bottoms out on that. It's impossible to separate the strut from the fork while in there too, I tried a spreader and silicone spray... just isn't enough room. If you remove the axle it would be a 30 min job each corner and save the axle boot as well.

Edit, maybe i should have compressed the spring?
