Next-gen Instrument Cluster

Just came across this topic:
https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...rument-cluster

https://www.motor1.com/news/239528/b...ument-cluster/
Any chance that it would make its way in to the M5 in the 2019 or 2020 model? My Audi S6 (*takes cover*) has a similar setup and I am a huge fan.

+1, m5 also needs features like automated rears seats folding and acoustic glass which are equipped on the x3. G30/F90 was just released and they are already outdated.

I dig the S6. Beautiful cars. This feels like a mid cycle update for the M5. On the F80 M3 they actually made significant updates for the second year of production so wouldn't be unheard of for them to add this to the car next year.

I think iDrive 7.0 and the Digital Cockpit professional will make it into the MY2020 LCI.

I remember that happening when I started my initial search for a new car. I gave the M3 and M4 a hard look when they first came out but it got put on hold because I felt like BMW was in such a rush to put new wheels on the ground that a lot of the small things (which matter to me) got left behind. Heck, look at the G30; within a few months of production the instrument cluster had changed.

I'm not in a huge rush to get the M5, as I want to make sure it is correct on every aspect (more than just the specs I would like). I'm still really happy with my S6; it's full of aftermarket parts and the ECU+TCU are tuned so it moves pretty well, but nowhere near the F90...

Ha I just realized none of my car pics made it from my Samsung to iPhone switch over. I’ll take some tomorrow when it’s sunny out.

I can’t definitively say since I did not do a before/after dyno, but GIAC claims to boost power from 414HP/406Ft-Lbs to 500HP/540Ft-Lbs on their in-house dyno. Again, I have no actual evidence to prove this, but after driving it for well over a year I have no reason to doubt those claims. The engine really came alive after the tune.

For those who didn’t major in math:
“Dramatic power gain, adding 77 horsepower and 123 ft. /lbs. of torque at the wheels over the OEM software calibration on 91 octane fuel.”

Also going to be a bit patient here hoping the next model year gets some of the updates being talked about.
