Driver restraint system malfunction, Please Help
First I wanted to thank everyone for all the helpful information I have found on this forum, today is my first time ever posting.
When I started the car a couple days ago I got a driver restraint malfunction warning. I have began troubleshooting but am at a loss and really don't want my dealer here to bend me over. So far I have: 1. Verified all steering wheel buttons function properly to include the horn. 2. verified the vanity mirror light works. 3. slid the seat all the way back and attempted to identify any grounded wires. Anything past this to check would be very helpful. Lastly can I read and clear codes with ESYS? TIA |

Try searching for: DR.Gini, connect to your car and use the command: delete faultcodes
Esys won't be able to delete your faultcodes regarding restraint system malfunction. |

I was able to make the fault go away one the screen after continuing to mess with the wires under the seat now I just have to clear it from the memory. |

You need a diagnostic tool to clear faults from memory. That can be anything from ISTA to a stand alone unit, like a Foxwell/Schwaben. If you're doing any work yourself you need one anyway.

I don't have experience with Dr, Gini. I have a Foxwell NT510. It paid for itself the first time I used it.

I ordered the OBD2 to ethernet and was getting ready to start coding and planned on using ESYS but I believe a previous post said you can code with Dr. Gini as well |
