Arrow Summer Special: AiM Solo/Solo DL GPS Lap Timer & Data Logger | M-World

Data/lap time is a powerful learning tool for track drivers at all levels.

For the beginner it sets a baseline for objective measurements of your improvements. For the intermediate driver it helps you practice consistency. And for the advanced/pro drivers it gives you the 1/10 needed to beat the competition.

Just released from AiM in Italy, the Solo and Solo DL are designed for the weekend track day drivers. Despite its small size, Solo has the same capability of a professional data logger.

Systems from M-World will include full technical support for as long as you own your product.

Here's a video with the Solo DL hooked up to my E92 335i CANBus/ECU. Still working on getting everything in sync with TrackVision:

I'd highly recommend this so far.

Also, if you get the DL, it's probably best to get the CANBus right now. I think the OBDII protocol still has a bit of fine tuning to go, but I'll let the AiM guys comment on that.

can you custom its functions? like adding a 60-130 or a 0-100-0 or changing things into km/h?

Hi Eugene,

km/h can be chosen as the unit in settings.

Here are the performance tests available. I will ask AiM if they will add additional tests via firmware update in the future.

Hi Eugene,

AiM USA said "there are plans to add more", but exactly what features will be added is to be confirmed.

The update will be a firmware which will be available free of charge online to all Solo owners.

solo and solo DL are 2 totally different units. the DL has 2 ports and the regular solo only has 1 port. the ports are also different. the DL's ports can recognize parameters from the ecu while the regular solo cant.

if you have smarty cam (which i dont), you can sync the DL with the camera as well.

i got the regular solo cos i just wanted a lap timer and nothing more, just trying to track my progress on the track, especially since i am getting very familiar with some of the tracks that i go to so regularly, only way to improve is to use some data and try and see what lines or techniques are faster.

Thanks Chris.

The only thing I want to add is that the Solo does record GPS speed, GPS coordinates, and G's. Therefore you get the basic information needed for data analysis.

Edit: Saw on the other thread that OS X is not supported. I am trying to decide between the Solo and Solo DL. Sound that if I want to show view my corner speeds in conjunction with the video, I need a SmartyCam and a Solo DL.
