Unhappy Damnit, my car has been "on order" for 12 days.

this sucks, I even called the 1-800 number and they told me the same thing. "Your car is on order with no production date available yet". the guy said call back by mid-next week and he should have a date. dangit.

Your car is still on 112 status then...just cross your fingers and hope for the best. Sometimes these 112s turn to 150s overnight so....the good news is that you can still change your options/color/trim

vikz: I saw that...10 days huh? That's got to hurt.

I guess my car missed it by a couple of weeks (arrived at VPC 03/02)...

I dunno...if I could speculate...Greer VPC is the main one, so maybe BMW and BMW NA took it in themselves to install the CIP there since they supposedly have the personnel, tools and equipment there, to reduce or eliminate backlog at the dealers later on. From what I hear, it takes hours to upload/update the CIP, so when you factor in the hundreds of cars waiting to be processed...well you can imagine. At this juncture, you might as well just call them and arrange for Performance Ctr Delivery

Vikz: Hang on there...it'll be worth it...better to get the latest update now then to have to deal with dealer retrofit of CIP down the road...as i suggested, since the car is already at the VPC opending the necessary work (as you estimated another 10 days), you might want to use the time to schedule PCD which usually takes about 2 weeks to schedule upon arrival at the VPC...so you can have PCD with no extra wait time...plus you might save the transit time between SC and GA and PDI time at your dealer. With any luck, if you really push for PCD (changing to P-9 status), it might quicken the process...try it out, at least it might keep your mind occupied so as to dull the pain of the extra wait...

Do not have a breakdown, I know how it feels I've waited too and it's HELL. It will be worth it, it just makes it 100000 times worse when you know it's close but you can't have it

But back to your issue -

My car has been on order longer, but I've been told it's going to be an April build. When you called did they not have any idea which month's allocation/production it would be in?

What did you order? I just checked the 1-800, and I've moved from "on order with no production scheduled" to "production scheduled with no completion date."

Its a start!

You can use the VIN, or you can use your production number.

BTW, you can get your VIN from the Owner's Circle - you don't have to wait on your CA to give it to you.
