AFAIK they want to make it possible to use the on board camera system as a dash cam to record sessions.

Oh you mean the function I have been asking for since my M2? Yes, for #$(*)&%(#$ sake give us access to ALL the cameras and sell use the storage unit at your crazy BMW prices. Not a difficult add on.

Pretty sure the 2020 5 series will not have this. The press release seemed like the 5 series might have it, depending on how you read it, but if you read closely it doesn't actually mention the 5 series.
