I believe the M sport exhaust is around $1400 option if you want it with a non comp M5.
In the US you can't order the Sport Exhaust on a Base M5 as an option. Several members have ordered the mid-section and converted to Sport Exhaust but not as a factory option.

It sounds like gun shots if you downshift at high rpms or let off abruptly at high rpms. I’ve made people jump, not on purpose. With a push of a button it’s much quieter without bangs. You can program your m buttons to keep it off. It’s obnoxious when going slow around people, but when moving fast it sounds pretty awesome. I’d recommend turning it off if it bothers you, but it’s nice to have the option. I will admit when I first got it, it was fun to let off abruptly in parking garages. But, I’m a bit of a child.

👍 I do this as I pull until my neighborhood. Sport plus and shifter set to 3.

The pops and crackles are wonderful. Drives my wife nuts because she says she can hear me from afar.

So true ... my iPE Exhaust is bananas on Sport + and valves open. Love the fact that you can really go to an aggressive tone at the push of a button and then reel it again with another push of a button.

Have a look at the video I posted. There is not much in it much slightly better sound from the M5C IMO.

+1 This does the trick for pops and bangs as well as a nicer sound on the upshift under load.

But bizarely, its still not as loud on start up as my completely stock M5 F10 - that sounded like an offshore power boat and made all the windows in our house rattle !

Do you start it up in Sport+? Cold start in that mode sounds like a bomb went off.

Hey all. New to the forum and new owner of an F90 Competition.

This has probably been asked before so please bare with me. I’m looking for an exhaust upgrade that keeps the car quiet/notmal in stock (have a 2 year old, and have clients in the car sometimes), and something just less of obnoxious when in M2 for a Sunday drive etc. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
