LC short shifting 2nd gear on F90!

Hello everybody.

I was wondering if anybody has ran into the same "issue" as me.

Out of about 10 launches that I did in my F90, 2 times the car short shifted 2nd gear very early causing a much slower acceleration.

Does anybody know why the car is doing this? And how to prevent it?

Thank you!

are you shifting the gears from 1st to 2nd?

in LC the car shifts itself, if you attempt to upshift itll shoot 1st to 2nd, straight to 3rd

No I do not, I let it shift by itself on LC... that's why I'm confused why sometimes it decides to short shift 2nd around 4.5k rpms

That is common. If “excessive “ tire spin is detected, it short shifts. Annoying for sure. An earlier launch at a lower rpm/boost helps prevent it. Basically, see Flags, release brake immediately.

Ok got it. Maybe switching to PS4s will help with tire spin, and it stops doing this annoying thing

Better tires will definitely help. TC protocol should have been programmed better when LC is used. It’s too sensitive.

You need wider tires and get something with lower treadwear like in 100 range

I only have a video with RC and I had hard time Launching it properly.
End up getting 285 front and 315 back with 100 treadwear

I did add tune and made crazy power, I end up getting better results without LC

Are you keeping the throttle pinned hard down to floor, past the indent? I know in other M's, during launch, if you didn't keep it floored hard, it would no longer be in LC, and would just revert back to "normal" behavior, which, if the throttle wasn't completely floored, might be shifting a little short of redline with an automatic transmission. Once you launch, even a momentary, minor lifting of the throttle would kick it out of LC mode.
