Looking for some input on a used 2018 M5 possible purchase.

Let me first say I'm looking just for some opinions here. I'm not biased towards either car I will be asking about.

Here it is: I'm looking at a 2018 M5 with 3500 miles on it from a dealer it was purchased from. This dealer and the guy are friends and he gets in and out of cars very often. The MSRP was $120,650 they won't seem to move beyond 99K for the car.

Car #2
2018 E 63S 7500 miles this car had an MSRP of 130K they want 98K but I know they want to move this car. It's being sold from a MB dealership but came from a dealer hundreds of miles away.

I have not driven either one. I have owned both brands and love both but after reading so much about both cars and watching so many you tube vids on each car I'm very confused on these two cars.

I will also throw in the fact that maybe a new one (BMW) may be the better way to go but don't think they are discounting them to where I would like to be money wise.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

The only issue I may have is I purchased a 2019 Audi Q8 in Dec and I'm just not feeling it ( My First SUV) My wife drive's a 2019 X5 so don't really need two suv's. I think it was a big mistake with the Q8 nice vehicle but not me.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I really want to hear your input

I really want to hear your input. I will say I do love the M5 but Both cars seem like killer cars. I'm leaning towards the M5 but is used the way to go at 99 or even 97K What are new M5 with MSRP's of 120 to 125K going for. I'm in NJ

I will be trading my Q8 That was an 80K car.

you can get heavy discount on new 18 M5 as the 19 has been around for a while and the same applies for E63
not done any research recently but I expect at least 20 % off on 1 year old model that is left over from previous dealings on these cars
you have to do your homework and start looking for inventory and call dealers and see how much they are willing to discount
and remember they will start with bull shit offers
I personally will find a left over 18 and get that and most likely close to the prices the used one are running
and don't discuss trade until you agree on price of new car
good luck

I haven't seen any NEW 2018 M5 in my area in NJ. All the used 2018 m5's that I have see within 100 miles are all asking at least 102 to 105K

The one I had my eye on I assume was over priced but according to Autotrader it was a good price. Let me know if you see any new M5's that are going for 20% off let alone finding one.

Thanks for your reply.

New 2018s that are leftover will be heavily discounted. I'd personally not pay 99k for that M5 since for a few thousand more you can just get it new. Also, that car will barely be worth 70-75k in a year or so when the LCI drops and M5s become more common.
