My M5 Comp seems to be more compliant over bad roads in regular sport suspension than comfort setting. It seems to bounce a bit much in comfort over bad roads but in sport setting it is more compliant and just absorbs the bumps fast and chassis is so good it just deals with it. Has anyone else had this same experience?

The M5C was a much softer, smoother ride, and that's what pushed me over the edge toward the competition edition. I like the styling better, the steering feels really good, and I purposely went over some rough rode and was shocked at how much better it felt compared to my 550.

I take delivery in January. It possible that I could be bribed into a test ride for comparison purposes if there was steak involved... #Haven'tHitStripHouseInAwhile

The M-Sport package comes with 351M wheels and run flats.

Not yet. Thinking about the Orbit staggered 19s but sort of on the fence regarding getting 20s instead...

I guess I had them then! Are you aware that the Xdrive did not come w/ the M suspension? I had a similar experience to you, coming from JFK last winter. Hit an unavoidable crater on the Van Wyck, car slammed it so hard, that I recall lights coming on as well. I was astonised though, not to have bent a rim or blow tire. Run flats ride like S**t

I've blown several tires and my rims are constantly bent. Seriously...I can't keep straight rims on this thing, it's infuriating as it causes vibration. I also hit "something" a few weeks ago that went straight through my tire AND rim, blowing a quarter sized hole in the center of the rim. Check these pics.

I think it might be cheaper and easier overall to just have a winter set and sell them at lease end, or keep them if I keep the car (which is likely.)

Great to know another Akl M5 driver! I had a F10 for a brief while, and found F90 to be a little livelier, more communicative. which is very welcoming, but as a daily, and long distance, I’d personally not wanna get any more lively. Hope you’re enjoying your M5C |

Im going to have to drive both as well as pretty much every review is telling me there is quite the difference in comfort.
I current have a 18 MY F80 M3 CP and starting to educate myself more on the F90 which if I opt for one will be my 12 M car. I had originally planned on an E63 S after the M3 as I had the older 2015 model and absolutely loved it but much to my disappointment when I had a test drive in the new E63 the ride, even in the softest setting, was as harsh as my M3 ! Not what you buy this class of car for IMO. Also wondering if better deals are going to be had because here in the UK dealers seem to be struggling to sell non CP cars .... |
