NEW RELEASE: Dinan BMW F90 M5 Resonator Delete Kit / X-Pipe
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Dinan BMW F90 M5 Resonator Delete Kit Part Number(s): D660-0081 Applications:
Release Date: Available Now! Description: The Dinan Resonator Delete Kit for the F90 M5 introduces a more aggressive tone and an increase in volume over the stock system. Coupled with the associated Dinan exhaust, the sound is further enhanced into a smoother, fuller and more aggressive note that is to be expected of a stately performance sedan. This piece removes the hydro-formed factory resonated section and replaces it with 80mm T304 stainless steel tubing for freer flowing capabilities. In place of the factory resonator itself, Dinan incorporates a beautifully crafted X-pipe made from mandrel-bent tubing for minimum restriction, unlike stamped X-pipes, which are commonplace in the market. This sophisticated 'X' is not only the focal point of the system in terms of aesthetics but also the star when it comes to the effects on the sound. Promoting even flow to both banks of tips, the 'X' removes unwanted nuances in sound caused by uneven exhaust flow that is often in stock systems. Features/Benefits:

Stock pipes have to be cut to fit this correct?
Is this piece welded on, or just clamped down? Does this replace your mid-pipe product? N/M, I just read the installation PDF. Last edited by bMm5w; 05-18-2020 at 07:58 PM.. |

Should be fine assuming the ER secondary pipes use the stock clamp location. If they do not it still should be doable although the cut point may need to be revised a bit from our instructions to accommodate.

Nice product! Looks to very nice build quality.
I actually ordered your Axel back and X Pipe through my dealer yesterday. That being said we were debating on if we take the Axel back exhaust + resonator delete kit, is that equivalent to a cat-back exhaust? Is there going to be any OEM piping left from the OEM Exhaust? More specifically: Putting the Dinan Muffler and then the Dinan resonator delete kit (X pipe) will essentially replace the OEM exhaust up to the catalytic converters? |

Never tried BUT from pictures of the BMW system I think the chances are better than average. The "problem" is you would need to cut up part of the titanium system which would personally make me cringe.

It's also hard to know if the xpipe would add any substantial sound over the resonator on the M performance exhaust, so probably not worth cutting the pipes.

The section being replaced (center resonator) is the same on the CP as it is on the standard to my knowledge so the improvement/delta should be roughly equivalent to what was shown on the supplied video. In the next week or so you should start to see some reviews and I would imagine a few had the CP package and can weigh in first hand though.
