auto locking question
Just picked up my 325 this weekend. I had the impression that the doors lock automatically when driving off.But it doesn't. My VW had it and so does the MINI. I just want to confirm it has an auto locking feature before I bring it in to the dealer.

It does have it, if you have IDrive you can configure it in the options there.
If you don't have IDrive you have to bring it to the dealer and they can set the option for you. |

The new software when it comes will allow all these settings to be changed via the instrument cluster.
Dont know if a USA dealer can set it at the moment |

e90fleet...do you know if this software problem is a Germany factory problem, or will my 320d also suffer from it (it's being delivered to the dealer tomorrow-which means i get it on FRI YAYAYAYAY)
I won't cope if my doors don't auto lock!!! and it would be cool to change settings from the instrument cluster too... |

Thats funny this post got brought up, cause i was about to start a thread asking the same question.. My VW had auto locking doors and i was really surprised that my E90 didnt.. So the best thing to do is go back to the dealer and have him correct this? And my daytime running lights are not on either, do i have this or something that the dealer sets up?

With I-Drive you can adjust the automatic locking but nothing can be done about the DRLs

I don't have I drive and I'm glad mine don't auto lock,
the extra step of pulling the handle twice or hitting the central locking button to exit the car sounds like a pain to me. |

Usually auto-locking also enables auto-unlocking after turning the engine off. I'll be pretty upset if both these features don't appear in September.
