M5F90C 380 miles wow

Hi guys I'm new to this

It was love at first sight. Alpina white with black and carbon fiber accents just sexy. I had to have it. After many hours of negotiating finally the deal was sealed. She's all mine, As I'm pulling out of dealership driveway it starts shacking really bad. I take it back and leave it there. Next day I get a call and there telling me they have to replace both fuel pumps . Ok no big deal, four days later its finally ready. Fast forward to 380 miles and it starts shacking again and I'm on the highway. All I could think of is making it out safe, I pulled over and parked the car. I never thought I would see the following. Check out the pictures below. That is gasoline not water and the first warning I got was Drivetrain Malfunction

Anybody else encountering anything near my experience?

By the way dealership told me it was a high pressure fuel line and its has to
be ordered from Germany 2 week lead time

I don't wish this on anybody

That sucks...hopefully they'll get it fixed ASAP. Out of curiosity, did you get the car at BMW of South Austin? I thought I saw that car when I was there a little over a week ago.

I believe the high pressure line is only on the engine. If that's true and you had that much fuel pouring out of it......lucky it didn't burn to the ground! Sorry for your mess!

What a disaster. I'd tell them you are done with that car and it's time for them to replace it. Not common so there's something up with yours

I would get my car away from that dealership ASAP. They are clearly incompetent.

Spewing fuel just after the fuel pumps have been replaced is indicative of the work having been improperly performed.

Also, If I had to guess, I would bet the original chugging of the engine was due to to the dealer filling up with contaminated gas. That car made it through multiple quality checks, only to suddenly exhibit horribly rough running upon leaving the dealers lot. It just doesn't add up.

Good Luck.

I agree with the above - that sounds like finger trouble fitting the fuel pumps - contaminated fuel is not the dealer's fault, as that can happen to anyone (it did with me driving down the west coast last year). But personally, I would stand firm and try to do what you can to get a replacement car.

ps what rims are those?

I would lose my shit and drive the car right through the front window of the showroom, especially after they supposedly fixed it, sorry to hear about that, and demand it be fixed asap, and some compensation.
That dealership needs a complete review of there bs techs.

Incompetent repair, and they literally could've killed you. I would be speaking with an attorney.

I thought I would revive this thread.

Are you now enjoying your M5, having lived through this nightmare?

I hope so!

Out of curiosity, when the car was shaking really bad did you also have loss of power and an engine light. Most likely it was the car going into limp mode.
