PSCB and PCCB are different. Former are iron but surface coated the later are carbon ceramic brakes and cost much more

Ironically enough PSCB are a $3500 add on option at build. But a $10k replacement down the road. But PCCB are apparently a $35k replacement?! Like wtf at least for the Cayenne Turbo. Any Porsche owners with ccbs confirm this? This sounds like Ferrari Owners dumping the cars just before 10k miles due to the $50k initial service lol. Don't remember the exact numbers but I remember something along those lines.

hardly any ferrari guys have their cars for over 10k anyway. And regardless, CCB will very well outlast 10k. Lifetime item, with daily driving. |

CCB
No squeaking and honestly, can hand wash the wheels with water only and they look great. The towel barely has any dirt on them. CCB was the best investment/option on the build so far from a daily OCD perspective!

CCB's have a LOT of markup on them. From what I remember with the Camaro's they ran the exact same CCB rotors as Ferrari on the '14-'15 Z28. Same manufacturer, same size, different bolt pattern. Ferrari was charging $35K for the upgrade while Chevrolet was charging $65K for the whole car. Replacements from GM were around $4K for all four rotors as well vs $4.5K per rotor from Ferrari.
I would like to do CCB's on my next performance car, but I don't have the patience to order and wait. If I find one on the ground then I don't mind paying for them at all. |

while we're all versed in the advantages of CCBs and the cost comparison this is more a topic regarding the new carbide treated iron rotors from Porsche. CCBs have been around for decades.

but they do require special brake pads since the process makes the surface of the rotor as smooth as a mirror!

PSCB are still a material option upcharge from iron, about half of PCCB. Low dust, but at the expense of a mirror finish rotor. They look wacky to me, couldn't live with them on my car. OEM Porsche PCCB rotor replacements for front and rear are $22k at retail, but they can often be had for half that on the secondary market for takeoffs. Plus there are aftermarket options that are way cheaper than OEM. Finally, on a street car, the current Porsche PCCB rotors will last over 100,000 miles, so you need to consider that when comparing TCO to iron. I've owned both iron and PCCB Porsches and I would never spec a new Porsche without PCCBs. I have a GT4 arriving in the next week with them on it. |

You can go online and find rotors at list for around $22k (like this https://www.suncoastparts.com/catego...RAKESPCCB.html) Even the largest, most expensive OEM Porsche PCCB rotor set only comes out to about $25k for a set of four at full list. And they last forever on a street car. And very few people would replace with OEM rotors at list, when you can get takeoffs and aftermarket for a fraction of that. Porsche PCCB replacement parts costs are largely irrelevant to the TCO, unless you damage a single rotor at some point. Then you're kinda screwed. I looked into doing a full conversion to OEM PCCB on my 2016 Spyder and all in parts cost was going to be about $17,500 buying a takeoff set out of Germany, and that was for everything, calipers to pads. |

Just for kicks - if you thought $35k is expensive - what about over $100,000 for carbon wheels, $400,000 for an exterior paint option, for a Koenigsegg:
