Individual Color Cost & Option Delete

I had a couple of questions related to a FY23 order and hoped someone could help.

1) How much does an individual exterior color cost if it was already offered as a standard color on a previous model year? Ex: Snapper Rocks Blue

2) Do you still lose options like Lane Change Assist if you get an individual color that was already offered as a standard color on a previous model year? Ex: Snapper Rocks Blue again

True individual colors are around $5,000. You can get the ones that are an option for the car for around $2K. It doesn't matter if it was offered as a color for the car previously. Unless the dealer gives you a discount, that's what they cost. Some are even more expensive (Pure Metal Silver is $10K).

I have never heard of you losing options for an indiv. color? My dad has a frozen black M5 comp and has all features. He had a pure metal silver M5 before this, and again, had all features. So gonna go ahead and say no, you don't lose any options.

I think you lose drivers assistance pro with individual colors. It’s becuase they can’t certify all the sensors with the different solids content on each paint and thickness of the paints.

I think if you go to the individualizer the colors that causes you to lose dap are identifies.

Individual Color is around $5k.

I can confirm you lose LCA with Individual (I have Chalk).

I think there is a chance you keep LCA If you go with an Individual color that at some point was offered as Standard as it was tested.

This is just a guess so check with your CA to confirm.

I thought it was just the auto lane change you lost. (Or do you lose everything including the lane keep and traffic jam assist?) And yes in theory you should be able to keep it with colors that were offered before, and if not you just code it back on with no worries since you know it works just fine lol.

Well that's just another reason to get the coding stuff. I was already planning on it for the cosmetic stuff like the nag screen and Carplay. Which one do you use, micvite ? BimmerCode? Which adapter?

You’re correct .. what you lose is the Lane Change Assistant” function which is part of DAP not DAP as a whole. They add option 8TR “Decoding Additional Function” to the order.

Bimmer code is meh imo, it's more user friendly but doesn't have a lot of options. I use a bunch if stuff lol, bimmer geeks protool is a good middle ground if you want an easy to understand UI but more options than bimmercode, and if you want pro level coding use esys. As for the adaptor I use an ENET cable with an OTG adaptor to connect to my phone and I can use it with my laptop as well.

I'd rather use the one with the most features. I'm pretty familiar with poking around memory locations on things. Just watched a video on E-Sys, and it seemed pretty straightforward. I'm surprised the software isn't harder to find. The cable is a minimal investment as well.

You're gonna have to actually pay for esys though, can't get it free for latest models anymore last I checked. But yeah all in its not a lot. Only thing with esys is the lack of presets done by someone else so you gotta find someone else's cheat codes basically. Here's a start for you though
