Just coded my M3
And it was so worth it. Customizing the shit that's been driving me nuts (disclaimers, MMI not turning off with door opening, dynamic high beam assist) has made driving the car that much more pleasurable.
If you can do it, do it.

You can see some of the options in my sig: Lighting pack, executive pack, technology pack, extended bluetooth, Harmon Kardon audio -- I think those are the most relevant ones?

What is the M Lap timer coding change you made? I don't think I ever saw that in any of the lists of things you can change.

So I changed it so *I* get that now And it works amazingly. Why they don't have it here is the stuff of Dr. Strangelove. Quote:

My guess is the dedicated area is for discussions like this, where we talk about the things we've coded into our car, and share the available options.

What exactly are the concerns w.r.t. coding? Is that this forum is co-owned by BMW, or that the owners are concerned about liability from messing with the BMW software settings ? Just curious, a

Going back to the adaptive headlights - I have coded this feature on my car and definitely see a difference. You can see the lights moving around. However, I would say that the effect is not as pronounced as in the video. To me, it seems that the "tunnel" created by the lights in the video has been artificially enhanced to make it more obvious. Even by looking at the still initial frame you can almost see a "square" that changes the color of the sky. This either real or artificial difference between what I see and what I see in the video does still make me wonder whether or not the camera needs to be recalibrated, as reported by some posts on here. Can it be done with E-Sys?
I did drive back from Michigan last night on both single lane and highway driving and never once experienced anyone flashing me or that seemed to be agitated or annoyed by my lights. Given how bright the LED lights are, I am sure I would have received a "signal" of some kind. The best final test was an encounter with an Ohio State Trooper on the highway. My anti-dazzle high-beams kicked in with him in front of me, and there was definitely very bright light illuminating the side of the roads all around him. I was focused on checking whether or not my high beams were hitting his rear-view or side mirrors, which is normally very easy to spot. It didn't seem to but I felt for sure he would pull me over and I was very close to disabling it. I stuck with it and he didn't seem to flinch. Eventually he pulled off, and I "pulled away." James.

I think I am going to have my coded at EAS. They have a long list of features they can code on their website.

Hi OP - any chance you coded for EU MDM? Did you see anything while coding related to settings for MDM?
Read rumors that EU MDM is less intrusive than US version - would be nice to know if true. |

You should be able to search for that on here. I thought I read that Euro MDM could be coded, although I am not 100% sure. I'll see if I can find the thread.
