Exhaust - M5 vs M5 comp

I see that only the M5 comp gets the sport exhaust system. Has anyone noticed a difference between the 2 exhausts? Unfortunately, my local dealer doesn't have both cars

Yes, there's a difference and the Sport Exhaust is better but still a bit underwhelming IMO.

This is subjective and based on what you like; you can install an x-pipe in the mid-section or go w/ an aftermarket exhaust. I replaced the Sport exhaust on my M5C with an iPE system and I could not be happier.

Really depends on what you like and the type of sound you want.

I don't believe you can option the Sport Exhaust on the standard car if I recall correctly.

That's a port option, right? Not sure it matters at the end of the day, but it's not a regular configurator option.

This is not Sport Exhaust .... this is M-Performance Exhaust.

Exhaust is all about sound ... power gains are negligible.

I'm in the process of building a 2020 for Euro delivery. I will see if I can have the sport exhaust added to the base M5 (and what the cost is)

If you are leasing you end up only paying about half the cost. So if you want the base suspension and the M Exhaust from BMW this may be worth it to some so it is all installed by BMW and can be turned in at the end of the lease as is.

One of the selling points of the M5C is the Sport Exhaust so it makes sense they would not make it available on the Base M5.

When I spec'd my M5C the Sport Exhaust was not an option on the Base M5. First Edition M5's did come with Sport Exhaust if I'm not mistaken.

This was also the case in the F10 M5 platform.

You can spec the sports exhaust as an option on a base M5 in the UK. It is £1,100.

I'm in UK and am about to order an F90 with M exhaust, but I'm hoping it's not crackle crazy, hopefully just deeper grumble. Any thoughts?

M5C does not come standard with M performance exhaust. It comes standard with the M sport exhaust.

I believe the M sport exhaust is around $1400 option if you want it with a non comp M5.
