That sold me on putting an order on an M5 CS, because if they put the same effort in, it will be an order of magnitude better than an M5C. I wouldn't trade a GT3 for it though. |

the m5 cs wont be drastically different than the CP. How do you figure? Because the car lost 230lbs, and it's stiffer? Lol, come on. |

I have a 991.1 GT3RS and an F90 M5.
Completely different cars, and not a chance I would swap the GT3 for the M5. Although my M5 is only a 2018 non comp, so a bit different to a CS. The GT3 on track is in a different league to the M5. It really depends what you are using it for. If it's just a daily car, then most likely the M5 will be better, if it's used for track driving and you already have a daily car, stick with the GT3, it's much more fun to drive and is in a different league to an M5. |

M5 CS has drastic changes to the M5C on paper (+200lb weight reduction, new interior) and should also have the changes you can't see (camber adjustments, steering, etc). Only reason i'm putting an order on an M5 CS was because of how much a leap on the M2 CS was. It wasn't just carbon bits on an M2C, far from it. |

i have not driven the m2 cs, the other two yeah. The m2 in general is very underwhelming but thats an entirely different story.. I'm simply saying 200lbs, and a slightly stiffer chasis isn't going to be such a drastic change from a CP M5. The car is already 4200lbs give or take, so 200lbs you wouldn't even feel it... I went from a car that was 3500, to just a pinch under 3000, and THAT is a weight difference i can feel. |

I might view things different to most here but I think what BMW will have done to the M5CS might make it the better track car but will have destroy it as a road car. Having driven the regular M5 against my M5 Comp I can see that whilst my car is more focused it’s stiffness make is less relaxing as a family car, it’s still OK but you really feel it on broken surfaces that the normal M5 deals with ease.
I wouldn’t be selling my GT3 for it if it were me but if I was considering switching I think I would have the new G80 M3 instead, I reckon it will be as quick as the M5CS on the track and I dare say I heck of a lot more comfortable on the road plus a huge chunk of dosh cheaper too. |

you think removing 200lbs and adding 4 bucket seats is going to make this a non road car? Come on guys... the car still weighs 4000lbs. |

If a bunch of bucket seats makes you think a car is a track car, then I have a bridge to sell you also. I would never buy an M5 CS to be a track car. |

The CS from the reviews is reading to be a better M5, than its prior iterations. The breadth of scope has widened, purpose has remained the same.
Those who track their M5s, will find a more capable M5 in the CS - although it’s not the ideal track car. Those who daily their M5s, will find a more capable and comfortable M5 in the CS - although it’s not the ideal daily. It’s a ICE V8 without batteries. Last of its kind and can do insane acceleration and speed with relative safety and comfort. The interior is perfect. And it’s a limited run. I personally can’t wait to get mine. |

Just coming back to this. After doing 600 miles in the GT3RS the last couple of days including a trackday, do not swap the GT3 for an M5. I love the M5, but it really is another level. The feel, the grip, the noise, the M5 just can't match it. For straight line speed there probably isn't much in it, but the GT3 is just so much more fun to drive, you feel so connected to the road in a way that the M5 just can't compete with. As a two car garage, an M5 and GT3 would be perfect. But if I had to chose one, and didn't need 4 seats, it would be the RS.

I'll be honest, it's the first time I've actually driven the GT3 properly on the road, it's usually a track car only, but thought I'd take it for a drive. Was going to do about 20 miles down some nice country lanes, ended up going through 4 tanks of fuel and doing around 400 miles of road driving, such a great car, it's seriously good on the roads, I thought it would be harsh, but it just soaks up bumps and is very compliant. Different cars obviously... and it doesn't shred rear tyres with a big grin on your face in like the M5 does in RWD mode

LOL. I too recently acquired a "made for the track car" but it wont ever see the track. A car that is designed and made for strictly speed, is worlds different than an M5. Thats why i always find it comical people on this booard mentioning "track" and "m5" in the same sentence. |

If GT3 was a four seater, I would say buy it ASAP.
It honestly comes down to practicality vs track demon.

If you have only one, I far prefer the GT3. I daily'd my touring GT3 until I got the M5. The GT3 is the best car I've ever owned hands down. The M5 CS will likely be very very good - but if you're asking purely on a performance perspective - GT3.
If you're looking for a car that carries 4 plus drives amazing, M5 CS is the way to go. If I didn't have the GT3 and 675 to get my rocks off, I would have ordered an M5 CS. I just prefer the comfort of the C5 comp seats and truthfully the driver assistance plus is very nice to reduce stress during traffic. Good luck!
