My steering wheel is similar. Lumpy is the only way I can describe it. I usually forget about it when I hit the gas.

Door panel trim looks like something got underneath it during assembly.

My F10 steering wheel (heated) looks identical - bit the door looks like a manufacturing issue.

More to check on my pdi - hopefully at the weekend.

Just noticed the stitching on the dash is also subject to "fraying" - not to self - don't allow the usual car wash to touch it, as they are not that careful !!

Heated steering wheel in my 2018 X3 looks similar as well. I think it is just the design of the new BMW steering wheels.
