CAn someone answer this question for me?

It's very easy to rebadge...
you just need some double sided 3M tape.

It's available at Home depot in the paint dept.
(note... not carpet tape)

Debadging definitely gives a cleaner look. No doubt about that.

But you know, I dont' recall ever having seen anyone remove the BMW roundels. I'm sure its been done, but it doesn't seem to be very common. I mean if the goal is simply to get a clean uncluttered look why not go the full nine yards? There's nothing clean or flowing about blue and white circles all over the car.

I only debadge because ever since someone tried to remove my first car's badge with a screwdriver (and failed), I've decided not to encourage this kind of behaviour

If they see the need to remove a badge from an Opel Kadett, why wouldn't they want a BMW badge.

An added benefit is that I now don't have to worry about cleaning all around the badge with Q-Tips.

I say, debadge if you want...and do it for whatever reason you want. Yesterday, I pulled up to a light next to a debadged M5. I'm sure he did it out of pure embarrasment.

MonacoBlue has a point. Most of these cats are debadging to hide the fact that they have a lower end premium car.

SMH.

It makes no sense. Do Mercedes/Infiniti/Audi/Lexus owners do this too?

I am a proud 325 owner, and to be honest, I dont think the 330i is that much better than the 325i performance wise, so Im proud I didnt 'waste' the extra money on the 330...
Im not questioning your honesty, but how come you say you are proud to have a 325 yet have made almost all the cosmetic changes to make it indistingusihable from a 330?

if u do it to achieve the 'clean' look, yes.
if u do it to 'hide' your lower end model number , i.e. 325... then to me, is pretty stupid...

...so why do guys with 330i debadge?

People have their reasons... accept it!
Don't make such unsubstantiated generalisations

Yeah but he said "90%". Even saying "most" might not be very accurate.
But it definitely happens. I don't think anyone will dispute that.

I personally think it would be cool to remove my 325i badge and stick a 316i badge in its place. Then watch people's faces as they try and beat what they think is a 115bhp car off the lights. I don't think i'd ever get tired of that!

Trouble is I think the police might get tired of it, so the 325i badge stays for now!

Out of curiosity I took a quick photo I had and during lunch debadged the picture. Before and after:

Looking at the photoshopped picture, I think it's a much cleaner look without the badge...

EDIT: This picture is the day I took delivery, so no Huper Optik and 161's. I'll try and debadge a more up to date picture of my car later... I really like the clean look though..

I'm seriously debadging a 335 down to a 325. I want to people to think I'm frugal and wise with my money, but still have taste in cars. then when I stomp on the gas,...
