Bimmerworld has HKS exhaust with stainless steel at 1649.95. Check out this site:

http://store.bimmerworld.com/bimmerw...tem-p1128.aspx

They were rated the best in a Grassroots magazine review:

Ultimately, it is your decision, but don't make it without being fully informed.

G/L with your choice and pics when you install!

That's not really a question we can answer for you. It's like me telling you what kind of music you should listen too.

Plenty of exhausts on the market - many with great build quality. Myself? I chose AE and I absolutely love it.

+100000 AE is amazing.... thats usually the first question people ask me when i pull up..."what exhaust is that? sounds sick!" i went with AE quads not a huge difference between the standard and quad other than the idle sound

This is sorta usless to ask which exhaust. Everyone is just going to say "Get <insert favorite or theirs> exhast" Of course I'll say get AE, but I have not seen or heard many others. What kind of look or sound are you going for? Keep in mind......all aftermaket exhausts are going to drone slightly, some just less than others.

AE
Pros:
Absolute perfect fittament and quality
Easy install with the flanges, no messing with clamps
Perfect sound for me, not too loud but very aggressive when I get on it hard
The tips looks sexy!
Performance, since they are divorced pipes, I felt like I gained some HP

Cons:
Price, but you get what you pay for
My wife did not approve, anything other than a toyota prius under 5 mph is too loud for her.

I wasn't looking for someone to pick out my exhaust for me based on the ones listed. I just simply asked for any personal feedback on the exhausts mentioned and to add any others that might be a good option. Of all the exhaust systems that i mention.... not one exhaust have i heard in person. I dont really trust you tube videos for an acturate sound.

I do like the AE and is one i am leaning towards. It has a different look from any of the other exhaust systems ive seen and performance wise is in the top few as well.

Its not useless to get feedback and take advice from others.... As i just said, i have not heard any of these exhaust systems in person.... so asking for feedback from individuals with personal experience is far from useless.

i agree though.... the look of the AE surpasses all other exhausts ive seen. i also like the divorced pipes and performance gains seem fairly strong to

Sorry bud - I didn't mean to sound condescending or anything. I was just moreso pointing out to you (and others) that even if 20 people said "AE IS AWESOME!" it may not strike that note you're looking for.

It's pretty accurate, although most have AR DP's on the clips and this will change the sound slightly (deeper IMO). Mr. 5 has a good video of going through a tunnel and some street runs, check that one out too. The exhaust can be pretty deep (bass) sounding at low RPM, I usually drive in DS or shift to aviod this. If you are cruising at 60 mph in auto it's pretty annoying, just go faster or drop it down a gear. This will happen with pretty much all aftermarket exhausts, how loud they are depends. My latest JB3 2.0 has definatly made my exhaust much more mellow and doesn't kill my hearing at 60 mph anymore. When up at RPM, the AE sounds SICK!!! You gotta hear it in person, it's a cross between a supra/porche/350z, hard to explain but sounds very good. And finally, when you let off the gas or downshift, you get a very deep grumble/burble effect, and that sound makes me The only other 335 aftermarket exhausts I have heard in person were Bastuck and BMW PE. Both of them sounded good but none of them compared to AE's which had a more pronounced and unique sound.

On a side note, there are probably a few people around your area with this setup. You might want to see and check out their car before you buy! Call Bavarian X, I beleive they still have an AE exhaust (quad tip with cats) in their garage.

I'd give a listen to the BMW Performance Exhaust, if I were you. If you do a quick search on here you'll find many folks that love it.

Maybe check w/your local dealership and see if they have an install scheduled so you can hear it?

Good luck,
Rick

+1. Don't have it yet, but have heard it in person many times over AND have driven in a few e92s with it installed. Very pleasant sounding when cruising, but with WOT, it really growls! It's also nice IF you are concerned about warranty issues at all.

If not the BMW PE, then my second choice would be the Vanguard.

Even though its pricey, and doesnt delete the secondary cats as most catbacks do, the BMW performance exhaust from tischer can be had for 1700 for a E90 and around 1000 i think for a E92, and it sounds amazing, i heard it in person.

Think carefully

Yes, true about not deleting the secondary cats, but keep in mind any tampering of emissions equip, particularly in CA, results in a quite severe smack on the hand with a ruler.

Not to mention the substantial $$$ delete that may follow.
