Any way to default the M tach display by default on lci's?

Not that I've found yet. BMW fixed a problem that didn't exist when they pulled the ability to select the HUD mode from the M1/M2 button programming and moved it to the M MODE console button.

BMW, if you're listening, undo that error. Put HUD selection option back into the M-button set-up menu!!!!!

THIS. Thought i was suffering from brain fade only to realize this option we all want doesnt exist any more. Must be an oversight or a valid reason. Cant be they just forgot.

It would make so much sense to be able to program this to an M button. At this point it's just part of my routine when I start the car to select my M mode and switch the dash. It would be great if they added in a future update, but not holding my breath.

Maybe they will fix this in the new m5
