Navigation arrow gone from HUD?

I wasn’t aware of an update, but 10 days or so ago I noticed the car’s voice assistant changed back to ‘hey BMW’ from the name I have it set to. It’s done this a few times before.

But now, the arrow showing the next direction change when using the navigation has completely disappeared.

It still shows on the centre (control) display, and I can get it to show between the dials on the main cluster, but I’ve tried every setting and cannot get it to show like it used to in the HUD - which is a shame because it was really useful.

Is this a UK-only thing? Not sure it’s related, but I subscribed to the BMW service which would show safety cameras, and that used to pop up in the rev counter display, where I normally show boost and water temp. Now, that does show in the HUD (not sure I could have made that happen before the update I think has just happened) but I’d sooner have my nav direction arrow back! I can turn the safety camera warning off, but the arrow doesn’t reappear.

Am I alone or has anyone else seen this and better still, possibly have a fix?

Check yours services in iDrive, they're still there or gone too?

Found it, eventually. I’d gone into settings/displays/HUD, and in there was no option to toggle navigation arrows in the HUD.

Sat in a traffic jam earlier I went through every single option, and if you go into settings/M-settings/displays you get the same stuff you can set in the previous menu but now you also get options for how the HUD looks in Road, Sport and Track modes; sure enough in the first two of those you can toggle navigation arrows on and off.

A little daft that the ‘full’ menu isn’t in both places, and I can’t think of a reason why that wouldn’t be the case.
