SELLER RECANTED on M5 CS on Cars & Bids - no reserve
UPDATE: Chatted with the winning bidder bwerg- looks like seller did not agree to let the car go for the winning auction price of 167 (23k over)
https://carsandbids.com/auctions/9Al...2022-bmw-m5-cs Wanted to bring attention to it on here as a hypeman to see it go up ! Hope you guys take part in bidding! (not mine; but excited to see how high this goes)

Yea I like how that fake Shaun_Platinum account is driving the price up when there is too much dead time between bids.
Looks like the hype did not extend outside this forum and paid for reviews. Last edited by nerdogray; 02-22-2022 at 01:52 PM.. |

Roughly 23k over since it didnt have the premium cost for frozen
Too bad the highest bidder went to a dealership

$25k over MSRP for the base spec on a car that is now a two-owner vehicle? I’d say there’s still quite a bit of hype “outside the forums.” Lol
Dealership as new owner is going to flip it and make even more. |

B_wergs user is a dealership? Interesting. They grabbed the M550i that sold cheap recently too.

Buyers pay a 4.5% commission capped at $4,500 too, so technically they paid 27,500 over MSRP + shipping costs

As I suspected before this all started, if you bought an M5 CS in Brands Hatch Grey metallic at MSRP, it was a solid financial financial decision.
You saved the $5k on Frozen Paint, the BHG will be easier to care for in the long run, and your used prices will be virtually the same as the frozen color on the secondary market. FDG is commanding a big premium on the new market, but it doesn't look like its going command any significant difference from BHG in the used market for examples that were driven. Any of the differences right now seem to be largely based on market fluctuation due to market conditions. |

As a man who has owned several M5's it is annoying to see them being flipped like commodities. I feel bad for the true M car enthusiasts who will miss out on a great car.

Point is the guy lost $16k, thinking he was sitting on a gold mine. Paying $35k over MSRP? Yea...
I find it absurd so many clamor after a vehicle that has been stripped of some of the conveniences and comfort that make the M5 and pay more for it, when it has extremely limited paint selection on top of that. 99% of the people wanting the vehicle will not be appreciating the point of it, so the immediate statement "well, it's a track car." That dog has been wagged so hard on this vehicle it's dead. It was run through BMW's hype machine with well-planned paid-for reviews and blogs. But if people want to pay more for less, thinking "it's the best," that's just business. |

The m5cs at 143 or whatever was actually a really good deal if you got it at msrp. That hood is $10,000, the seats are more than that, and it has all of the other carbon bits.
The only thing annoying for me about the car is the fact it doesn't have a front camera in the bumper. I find it useful in my 2019. The 2019 standard model rides significantly smother and I find it shifts smoother also, most likely due to the firmer engine mounts on the m5cs. But the experience of driving the car with the seats it really makes the car. Just needs a louder exhaust i find my 2019 is louder for some reason. If you option out a m5 with all the carbon bits as accessories you will get to your 143k most likely and that is without the interior that is the main attraction to the car. The USA got a deal here the car should be like 185k new msrp. Look at the price in the uk. I just wish there was a better color selection. Me personally I wouldn't sell that car for 167k that means the guy made maybe 13k if he paid sales tax and Registration. Not that great of a profit in order to let go a car that you waited 8 months for.

Edit not sure if you saw my reply on fb, but if you fully loaded an m5 and didn't opt for carbon ceramics or the exhaust or winter wheels you'd be at just around 147k with a 3500 paint job 2500 m drivers package and full silverstone merino leather and that includes bowers and Wilkins. |

For reference, the previous C&B M5 CS sold for 172,233, the PCAR market sold at $200,000.00 (Deal tank) and the Bring a Trailer one sold at $175,000.00
https://carsandbids.com/auctions/rjB...2022-bmw-m5-cs https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/d...2-bmw-m5-cs-1/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2022-bmw-m5-cs-3/ If you take the average, accounting for the 5k paint premium, then the average amounts to 176,058.25 -- effectively averaging 31k over sticker, which is very very strong This most recent C&B appears to had only dealers going back and forth in the last few minutes

After 4% NY sales tax, and the 4500$ capped fee, a little under 14k profit to the seller I estimate?

Seller says he paid 35k over, but hasn't shown any proof; if assumed that he did, then he lost about 12k before taxes

143,000+35,000 * 1.04 = 185,120. Assume dealer processing fee and maybe some other randoms close to 1k more.. say 186,000 -167,000 = 19k bath! Not to mention there is a reference of some add-on packages in the post. Maybe more unless you can refund those prorated. That's just $38 per mile driven lol.. yikes.

It's considered an individual option so needs approval and stuff from bmw, but I was asked if I wanted sports multifunction or buckets when I did my build.

On 2022 and 2023 m8 it is option. But it is not option on 2022 f90 m5 other than m5cs. I called my dealer today that I bought the m5cs from and he confirmed this. So not sure what they are smoking up in Alaska at that dealer
If it is bmw of anchorage, I know the general manager there I sold them an engine and smg pump for e63 m6. I will ask him this special option.
