Yup, reputable exhaust shop will be able to get it done. They may have to add a a few inches of piping if that isn’t as long as the whole resonator. Again though, any decent exhaust shop should have zero issues.

Would it work with some fabrication, sure. Would it be a direct bolt on, likely not. The centerline to centerline of the stock pipes as they exit the stock front resonator is about 5” and the centerline to centerline of the Magnaflo is about 5.75” so you would have to do a little pie cutting and welding. If you have a bandsaw and can weld stainless, you could do it. I would not crush bend. If you can’t weld, do you have a good shop? I think a lot of shops would charge enough to adapt that Magnaflo that you would not save much over the Dinan X pipe, and you can install that yourself if you can cut your exhaust yourself. If using a shop, it is an easy install for the shop — much much easier than adapting the Magnaflo.

Thanks for the information. That's pretty much what I was hinting at. What was more cost-effective? Either buying an x- pipe that's already complete and ready to go or get a universal one and custom it on. Looks like I'll just save the extra pennies and go for the Dinan as it would be easier.

Dinan’s X pipe starts at the end of the transmission and has several cut and welded sections for a reason, and it is just a merge rather than a true X. Just stay away from the shops that crush bend — fine for a work truck but you lose flow and that makes your exhaust lower performance.

Yes i think your right about the Dinan pipe its a merge pipe same with Awe one in principle they basically works the same way as a X-pipe but don’t mix the exhaust from both pipes as much.

For performance, it makes no difference on the M5. The pulses are crossed in the manifolds before the turbos and the turbos then chew up the exhaust. Sound may still vary a little.

Yes i know we have talked about the cross manifolds before but i would not say for sure it makes no difference even though its a turbo engine.
