Lowering springs - Negative Camber Plates for the F90 M5 comp needed?
I am installing the 550i springs on a 19 M5 comp.......does the front need camber plates to adjust negative camber...or the tech can adjust the front camber perfectly? we know most cars have limited front camber adjustment

I haven't heard of anyone NEEDING the camber plates when they installed lowering springs. The tech can adjust most of it out with an alignment. I have the KW HAS kit and had no issues with getting an alignment.

Camber plates don’t work with double A arm front suspensions. Camber plates are used with MacPherson struts.

Ok thanks...car is at the shop now.....I told them to align the car using the Dinan alignment specs
The main issue I had was after 15k miles both front tires had extreme tire wear on the inner edge......the only mod was I installed 21inch Hre wheels with spacers and never aligned the car since new......either the oem alignment was off or the 21inch setup needed a realignment....... After getting back alignment specs its clear there is very limited front end camber adjustment much like every past M5......apparently BMW makes another control arm where camber can be adjusted ($$)....basically the left and right sides dont match......I used the Dinan alignment specs.....car drives fine but hopefully my inner front tire wear issue is resolved with other adjustments like toe etc
Anyways I only installed the front H&R lowering springs and left the rears as oem Competition springs....car is perfectly lowered to match front and rear and drives well...

I mean this with no disrespect, but it sounds like you’re over complicating things. Just get both front AND rear lowering springs installed, get an alignment (best they can do) and that’s it.
If manufacturers felt they could sell just fronts they would have. The front and rear springs are designed to work best paired together. |
