1200 mile service...M certified dealer only?

I am a bit past due so hopefully take it in this weekend. I have read about making sure that diff fluids are changed as well so is it better to take it to a M certified dealer or is that a gimmick??

The M certified is a bit out of my way compared to a non certified but I will take it if needed.

Also, how long does the break in service take??

It took me about 2 hours.

I would use a certified dealer for any intervention

How can you tell if a dealer is M certified?

just take it to the dealer, you will be fine... and i suggest you not wait too long. if you have an issue down the line and the motors oil wasn't changed around the 1200 mark, they can/will deny your claim.

You don't need an M Service dealer to change diff oil. Only thing I would look at an M dealer is for an Engine swap or other major work. Standard work is perfectly capable of any dealer. The cars aren't that unique.
