Great find. Quickest 1/4 yet posted at 10.2 which is where it should be based on multiple tests at 135mph.

Thanks for posting !

Porsche has always had a leading industry traction control system. Even on the 2WD GT2RS.

But this new AWD system seems to be even better than the 991.2 TTS system since more power is transferred to the front tires. Pure stock my 991.2 black tracked much more than this 992 does.

The engineering evolution of the Turbo continues to amaze me. I remember my 996 and thought it was the king of the road. Then comes the 997.1 and then the 997.2 and 991.1 etc.... The chassis adjustments are just amazing and of course the PDK software married with hardware upgrades are never settling; always getting better. The AWD tq splits to your point and how it grips bar raise on each gen.

I was going to pull the trigger on that 991.2 Turbo S with 40k off but I dont think I want to anymore with this car coming to town.

I love my 991.2 Would but it again. With the tune and lighter weight it is faster/quicker than the 992. But the 992 will be a legit 9 second car with just a tune. If I were ordering again today, I would wait on the 992.

Launch control in the new cars mirror that of the GT2RS where they make 1st gear even shorter and basically slip the clutch almost the whole time until it shifts into 2nd. The 991's had the clutch grab at like 5.5k after the rpm's dropped from the initial launch and the car would sometimes bog slightly. This was all changed for the GT2RS and is now standard across the lineup.

Even the 992S is hitting 60 in mid-2s with a tune, the 8-speed pdk allows 1st gear to have a gear-ratio of almost 5:1, considerably higher than the 7-speed ....so if you have the traction u can make it happen lol

I note the car has hit 60mph in 2.3secs, wow, that is incredible times for a standard production car. May even tempt me out of my M5, although after the performance figures, i think i would rather have the M5 ?.
