90F is a scorcher of a day to be bagging a car at the track... I don't know many 4000+lbs cars that would handle that without serious cooling power.

Is this for real? Does this apply to the m5c as well?
Apparently it's limited to 50 on the G8x series, so I'm guessing it's the same with the M5 platform.

I have tracked my F90 base model a few times and make a point to never go when the high temp is over 75 degrees. The F90 gets really hot. When I pull into my garage on a warm day, it's crazy how much heat comes from underneath this car, much more than my old F10 M5. The F90 is really a handful at the track, just too big, but it really is fun when you accelerate from 80 to about 130, just amazing !! I had mine at Thermal (not with the BMW school) on a cool day back in November 2019 and it was fine. The only time I had the warning pop up was when we were out in Northern Nevada doing 1/2 mile runs over & over. After I gave the car a 30 min break it was good to go. I would say that day was probably in the low 50's. Perfect weather for this car. What did happen after a track day when I had approx. 8000 miles on the car is the front brakes started grinding really bad. Dealer replaced the pads and rotors at no charge. Glad I purchased the Ultimate Care + to cover the brakes !!

These cars pump heat, the hot VEE turbo... I open the hood every time I park in the garage so the heat can escape.

The hot vee is hard on the valve stem seals, too much cooking and they start to leak causing the engine to burn oil.

Curious - is this the same with other heavy cars like the AMG GT 63S or Panamera?

you'd have to be actually crazy to think the F90 or even CS is a track car. Either crazy, or very well mis-informed. You can probably do 1 or 2 hero laps, and you're done. Too big, you want a track car get something smaller.

not about being a track car; that bit I get ... but to limit launch control to 50 ... that is absurd, if true.

This is the first time I have heard 50. I have had my M5 since March and have not used launch control. Although I wonder what kind of donut you would achieve if you did launch with the steering wheel turned all the way right or left.

Not sure how you’re having issues with cooling. I completed a road course event on Sunday at palm beach international with ambient temps between 78-90 and did two 25 min sessions without oil temps passing 250ish? And I went hard on the car…granted I got to
about 150 on the back stretch to help cool things down lol

Only mods are that it’s lowered on spacers and catless downpipes which may help reduce EGT’s a bit
