M5 Carbon fiber, interior kit
Does such a thing exist? I would love to convert my entire interior, including the piano black crap into carbon fiber like I had in my G80. They had it for the steering wheel and I bought that. I just thought I would ask here before I do all this research online and get confused. Lol.

I found it. It’s epic. You’re saying it looks perfect? Doesn’t stick up? How does it go on? Just over what already exist? This looks bad ass. The price is not bad either. I’d love to hear more about it brother. Pictures if you have them.

the price is cheap for what it is and i will give them credit for even attempting to make it. the finish on it is great, but again with Autotecknic their lack of QC is very much hit or miss and they made me pay for return shipping for one of the pieces that I wanted to exchange under warranty which is BS, the center console and dash is great, but the door blades are terrible.
honestly, i will probably never order from them again. this looks like Helen Keller was in charge of their QC dept here are the center console and dash pieces that do look good Last edited by NoMods; 04-29-2023 at 08:20 PM.. |

Well, my brother, that’s not exactly a resounding endorsement of it. My trademark is I hate headaches. It’s just I sat in a brand new M8 today and it came with a factory carbon fiber interior just like my G80 did. I miss it. In my opinion, it looks the best that way. Pisses me off BMW didn’t offer the M5 with it. |

Agreed with post above. The fit isn’t 100% perfect, but overall does look pretty great. Even with the hit or miss fitment issues, I think it looks better than the carbon aluminum stuff I have under this.

You guys are always so helpful on this forum. Thank you. I think I’ll give it a go. You guys all seem to 100% endorse it right? I wonder if there are others that have use this kit? I know our friend James from What’s Your Forte has and he recommends it also.

Is this kit easy to remove and not damage the original aluminum paneling below it? |

What did you guys use, that’s just as thin, won’t cause left over residue if you pull it off, and works better? |

I used scotch double sided “extreme mounting tape”. Looks similar to 3M product and seems to be just as thin. I used a thin box cutter/utility blade to trim the excess take edges. I basically covered most of the inside surface of the trim pieces. Those things aren’t going anywhere on their own 😂

+1, you don't want to use anything with foam tape because it'll be too thick, like EM5C said it needs to be like that transparent tape thin. if you live in a colder climate, i did heat up the surface before applying too

So I emailed them this morning and he responded very quickly. However, he said that he doesn’t have it and he assured me no one in the country does either. He says the next batch will be finished the end of this month. Do you know what pisses me off? You go to any website that claims that have this for sale not one of them says it’s not in stock. I hate it when companies do that. Guarantee every single one of them would run my credit card with no problem if I clicked buy and let me know in an email in a day or two, I wouldn’t be seeing the product for four weeks.
