Another BMW X5 x40i M Sport!
Had this beauty for around 2 weeks now, so best I get some images up while its still semi clean!
Couple of packages installed, including the Tech pack and Parking Plus packages, as well as the front and rear Operation Eye 2.0 Dash cameras, and the gloss black kidney grill |

Congrats! I did Advanced Car Eye 2 as well...front and back. Had mine 3 weeks and loving it.
Also added the RC Black and XLR - I won't turn on the RC until I hit 1500 miles, but the XLR alone makes it feel like a whole different car.

Advanced Control Eye... What is that? I don't remember that being an option in USA.

"The full-HD wide-angle camera automatically records certain driving situations. The detailed video is also saved automatically. Various sensors on the light-sensitive camera, as well as excellent signal processing, mean the camera is capable of recording high-quality images during the day and at night. The highly sensitive GPS receiver enables recording of the road and speed. The G sensor detects impacts. Ambient movements are detected and analyzed by radar technology." https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/6...ED-CAR-EYE-2-0

So basically a fancy BMW dash-cam at a higher price... but made to look right in the car and hopefully wire in to the harness somewhere seamlessly? Cool. I'm guessing it records longer clips than the drive recorder too.

It stores videos constantly at much longer lengths, comes with an app, is configurable, and you can always see what is going on around the car.
I have Drive Recorder, too...but that only does 20 seconds before and after...ACE has a lot of memory.

That sounds pretty good, actually. I can't imagine it will be too long until integrated dash cams become an option. Perhaps they'll even expand the current drive recorded to act more like Tesla's sentry system.

Either that, or integrate another camera into the back of the rear view mirror and the rear end of the car - I'm sure they could come up with an easy solution that blends right in and cant even be seen! |
