I'm liking the hood. It would be cool to retrofit. Another day, another mod.

So they take away the power dome on the next m3/m4 and give it to the m5cs? Maybe that means the power dome is now only a CS trim thing for the g80/82 also

"forged" carbon is a nice fancy way of saying recycled carbon scraps glued together that were just laying around going to waste

But shedding 200lbs. I think is asking for a bit much no?
Just hoping for it. HP is easy to gain sense we have seen more then 800HP but the weight is the most difficult part.
Maybe 150lbs Puls be more possible. The seats are heavy....wheels and breaks alone can save 50lbs

so conflicted. looks like a "normal" 5 ... which sucks...but great compared to the big ass grill AWD Accord models.

on an absolute basis? disappointing.
on a relative basis? outstanding.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks similar to the competition model. The M8 CS would look better in CS badging. But who knows, this car might look better in person too...

My guess:
Carbon core
New wheels
Sport Cup 2 tires
CS hood cover
More torque
Marginally more power
Lighter seats
Rear-wheel steering (unlikely, but one can hope)

I often wonder when we see spy shots like this why the person taking the photographs doesn't go up and take pics of the inside of the car.

If this is the direction BMW is going in, I can't wait for m760li, M8, x3/4/5/6 M all to have the CS trim😂😂

Hell maybe even bring back the csl and lightweight moniker for the x7!

Just teasing.

But seriously. Lol

Kidding aside... I think only the sedans and coupes Ms will hace CS versions 👍🏻

I think they are following the Porsche formula:

911 = M
911S = M Competition
911 GTS = M CS
GT3 = M CSL/GTS (possibly only coupe versions)

I am not suggesting they will compete directly with Porsche in performance, but I think the general idea of model lineup will be similar.

It's a pretty brilliant strategy I think in terms of profitability. Each model jump is not that much more costly, and the price and margin is much better as you go up the ladder.

Yes I agree, I think it will only be for the cars. Great job with the Porsche model analogies! These incremental upgrades and special editions are to some extent "parts bin specials" that give them a greater profit margin.

Totally, not sure why only the front fenders are wide but never the rears, and this has been going on for all M5 & M6 generations. BMW needs to fix this :

How much of a premium will a CS model be over base? Competition?
