Vehicle Service Question

Any harm in having the regular scheduled maintenance performed a few thousand miles before the counter hits zero? Example, I have 2,500 miles left before service is needed, and dealer is willing to perform the service now.

No harm....why would you even need to ask? If anything it would be better!

I dont see any harm but they might not do it under coverage since there are that many miles remaining. Now there is a caveat:

If 12 months has expired while miles remain; this was my situation after year 1. I was waaaaay under in milegage but the time counter had elapsed so I got the 2nd maintenance performed with BMW paying the tab.

If I was buying a second-hand car that was serviced early, I would probs think the owner tuned it and was driving it hard.

In my dealer, you have to be within 1,000 miles of the required service interval, or very close to the date.

You can see it differently.

The first owner was very cautious with his car and wanted to have it serviced earlier.

In the case that you describe, if the vehicule was tuned you can imagine that the owner would want to service it much earlier than just 2000 miles.
