Build Quality F90: Any rattles?

Hi Guys...

Looking to get into a F90 soon.

How's the build quality of the F90 so far? My F10 had a couple of annoying rattles but it seems BMW's build quality is getting better as of late.

How's everyone's F90 doing so far? Any rattles or annoying noises from this car?

I have close to 5k miles on my car. No rattles and one of the tightest feeling car I’ve had even on extremely bumpy roads at speed. Very impressive. To be fair I do have a door seal that keeps coming off but I blame the dealer for not fixing it right

I have an annoying rattle, intermittent, usually when the car is cold, i think it is coming from one of the passenger side doors.

Not a single rattle or squeak. Car is built like a rock .

I had something similar. Try putting the window shades up.

I had the problem with closing the hood - the right side was not closing full 90% of times. And its pretty stressing to use more power

Check if it's the front passenger seat belt buckle banging against the pillar molding. Happens to me frequently after someone's in the car with me and the seat belt buckle isn't laying flat.

No rattles apart from the passenger seat buckle sometimes not laying flat.

Yes, I know this rattle well, trying to train the wife (to no avail) to put the bloody buckle over the seat when she gets out.
It isn’t this or the window shade. I think there is something loose in the door.

Too funny! It seems your wife and mine are cut from the same cloth.

I think i finally found the rattle. It is coming from the center console. It was driving me totally f’ing nuts.

If I leave the passenger side of the compartment open I don’t hear the rattle.
I can also lean on it to stop the rattle.

Looking at it I suspect the flimsy plastic latch that holds the little door closed is rattling against the striker, it could be the door itself rattling against the frame but that seems quite sturdy.
I’m going to add a little bit of black electrical tape over the latch to see if that solves it.

Use a little pc of felt tape (flock tape) if you can find some. This is what we use in the industry. Honestly, if we took out all the BSR tape from a modern car, the mass would drop 100 pounds. LOL

Putting tape on the latch didn’t help, I think the latch rattle internally in the center console when it is closed, if I wiggle it I can hear it rattle, fairly sure this is what is causing the problem after driving around with the panel open for a few days and getting zero rattle noise.
I have no idea how to disassemble the center console and given that it is under warrantee so I’ll let the bmw figure out how to fix it.

My 12 year old complains about the low frequency noise at low acceleration, he’s right, it has a deep low frequency when accelerating slowly in comfort mode, I’d step on the gas all the time but this upsets the wife she complains about whiplash and that is worse that the noise the car makes, at least that stops when I get out of the car.

Open both lids and look at the rubber stops at the rear. Place a 1/4” thick piece of rubber insulation over both of the (1” wide ) so when you close both lids you have to push on them to latch. Cured my rattle.

Surely that buckle one of the F10's rattle culprits! I'm always re-adjusting it after a passenger leaves.

Can't speak for F90 yet, expecting delivery next week. F10 wise, is it your doors? My front doors tend to squeak / rattle, depending on temps. It's mostly in the winter and I actually have a wear mark on the jamb, were it's the worst. I have 22k on the clock and 99.99% of the time, I keep her in sport plus, so that hardest suspension setting might have attributed to the issue.

I'm rattle free at 10k. My F10 was solid as a rock as well.

Pulling the passenger belt over the seat bolster is just on my pre-drive check list.

Mine also feels solid. Although in the morning, when the car is cold, i can hear a squeaking noise, seems to be coming from the back somewhere.
