Taking our F90 M5 to the 1/4 Mile in stock form

We completed the run in service last Friday and took it the drag strip on Sunday during a BMW event that was running that day.

We managed a 11.6 at 126 MPH and won the M Forced Induction Category with a stock car beating tuned M3/M4's and F10 M5's on the day.

Next up we will be taking the car to a couple of different brands of dyno to see what it baselines at.

Yes it is! We have won the last 3 years in a row with our tuned F10 M5 and then a customers tuned F13 M6. It is amazing that a stock car was faster than any other tuned M Car on the day.

solid numbers.....11 won't be hard to crack for you lot.

tune and air box should do the trick.

What was the density altitude? I figured it would do closer to 11.1 stock if the temperature and altitude is reasonable.. if the temperature is high and the altitude of the track is way above sea level then that alone would account for the half second slower quarter mile time

The mph is fine and the ET is off since they had to leave off idle. Once they get LC working the ET should drop 1/2 second.

Very good time considering you couldn't use LC.

Also, the exit speed i damn impressive for a stock M5.

Yes I was expecting low to mid 11's. This track does produce slower results than you guys get in the US though. We can never match your stock times.

The Eventuri prototype intake is ready for testing this week and once we've done a few K miles will start with the tuning process. Easily a 10 second car with just a tune.

Set an M button up with everything to Sport Plus and DSC OFF. Physically move the shifter to the right to put the trans in Manual Mode. Left foot HARD down on the brake, then right foot down FAST ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. Look at the Dash and you should see the tach at 2800rpm and the LC Flag.

Same as the F80 M3 then. I've manage to do it in that but for some reason was not working on the M5. Will give it a try when I drive it next.

Using the same procedure I managed to get the LC to work so I will do some updated v box times soon. Not sure why it was not working before.

Only odd thing I’ve found is the gas pedal has to be snapped down for the flags to activate. If I slowly push the gas pedal down it does not work. Good luck !

Please try and do it while the car is stock.

Will be interesting to see the gains.
