Don't think so, if you load up the track video the car has a full tank of gas and says has 284km of range which is only 176 miles.... terrible.

sometimes they say it's the small things that add up ....

in this case.. I would imagine that the smaller fuel tank was a method of weight savings as well as packaging an AWD system under the vehicle.

The all-new 2018 BMW M5 will be available at certified BMW Centers in spring 2018 with pricing to be announced closer to market launch.

Additional specifications can be programmed via iDrive.

Someone can do that themselves at home, or only at the dealer? Funny that no 285/30r20 option at all is listed there. Or is it just a single Michelin tyre that is designed for BMW and has been given different names?
Yes it's DIY. The Tire Information System has a sub-menu called Special Approval Fitment. Upon selecting that, the system prompts the user to input the rear axle tire information and operating speeds. The front axle diameter tolerance is automatically calculated for DSC, Chassis Dynamics, and differentials.

The MBB car has PS4S 285/35-20 No Spec tires installed yet has the same door jamb sticker (for M Driver's Package). Keep in mind that those pics and videos were shot months ago.

As a current owner of a 70,000 km 2012 M5 that's been daily driven, tracked, generally appreciated, I think this will be a step forward.

Although I have not driven the car I am willing to bet the AWD will be dynamically enjoyable and less obtrusive than most. They've thought about it, which is encouraging. I have other high powered AWD cars and fully appreciate how much it helps put power on the pavement, particularly in less than ideal traction conditions.

No one has mentioned the oil pump... "Oil supply system uses fully variable, map-controlled pump". Is this anything like the fully variable map-controlled water pumps BMW has offered? Here's hoping not! Instead of a 'check engine' light, you'll have a 'change engine' light.

People are used to M traction issues.... thus expect wide rear rubbers.... remove the traction issues and the skinnier rears should still perform great.

Floating single piston caliper for the rear brakes.... Now that's a little cheap for your 5-series flagship BMW... Especially for owners who want to take the car to the track...

Also the big red M1 and M2 buttons are tacky.

You said that about the last one and ended up buying three of them.

Lol, I noticed the same thing, i downloaded the high-res to get a look at it. One of the guys that saw a preview of the car said it for SURE had 295's out back and he wasn't lying

The 295's are perfect.

This car does have twin turbos and both of those turbos are twin scroll turbos. Just like the F10 M5 since this is more or less the same engine as in the F10.

HP # is weak and styling is a disappointment compared to how well received and beautiful the F10 M5 was.

Smart play would be to wait for CompPack with 625hp and better suspension setup etc.

Last one had a DCT, it had as much power as anything else at the time.

And lets face it the F10's styling and interior was leaps and bounds above the W212 and first gen Panamera. Back in 2011 Mercedes and Audi were peddling boxy cars, with plastic dashboards and 7" VGA nav screens. There was no competition for the F10. That's why I bought three of them!

I struggle to articulate any area in which this M5 is better than the competition other than maybe the seats (I say maybe because these thick seats tend to cannibalize rear leg room - with my F10 nobody could sit behind me in the rear so it was essentially a 3 seat car.)

Fxxk me.....even ceramic has ugly single piston too......
This is cheesy as hell and I can't believe it's still happening. Even the M3 has fixed caliper, two piston rears.
