Mercedes E63S
Audi RS6/7
Cadillac CT5-Blackwing

Not really many high-performance sedans available outside of the Germans. Now coupes is a different story, depends on what you need in a car.

...or a gently used Aston Martin Rapide S with a V12 engine.

The Rapide has always been a forgotten gem for me, an awesome car that I rarely remembered existing But that V12 is anything but forgetful. Funny to think that it uses two Ford Duratec V6's stitched together, it sounds glorious!

Limey, but the exterior looks and the sound somewhat compensate for the tech downgrade...

Beautiful car for sure....but like limey said, I just could not deal with the SIGNIFICANT tech downgrade. It's one thing if the tech is a little less advanced.....but that car has the tech of my R230 Benz SL I had in like 06. Even Porsche....it seems like their tech is old as hell, too.

I am spoiled by the tech that BMW provides. My wife drives our 17 Q7 with live cockpit or whatever it's called and I got bored of it after like a month.

However, I do get a bit of a frown getting back in my M5 after sitting in a X5 or X7 with those huge Navi screens.

Nooo stop bringing this to light. I want it to stay affordable until I get one eventually

It's an absolutely fantastic car minus the tech. Pretty bullet proof when it comes to reliability. Future classic in the making!

Well I am looking at the E63S AMG Estate.
I know it may not be quite as fast but would suit me ok. Loads of space and power.
I need 4 seats.

Is the new gen e63s any more compliant than the previous gen? I drove a 2017 and found it super harsh compared to the M5. I just sold my lease and am looking at the e63s wagon or a panny turbo sport turismo.

No, but 2021 is possibly having a suspension upgrade/modified but you'd have to wait. Panny Wagon will likely be the most comfortable although the practicality is half of that of an E63S, but still better than a sedan, and I know you can easily get huge discounts on low milage demo's/leftover Sport Turismos because Porsche can't sell them. The depreciation on them is huge, so you can save $30k+ just buying a leftover 2019.

Yes agree on size/practicality. The issue I'm finding is I want the turbo and there are very few new and the used ones I have found dealers are being very "optimistic" and holding pricing somewhat firm. Still some good cpo deals to be had.

Yeah, it seems like there a few around the $120-140 range that seem very nice if you don't mind some mileage, but it seems like the dealers can't afford to lose anymore money on these cars than they already have, hence why they are firm on the price. I know you can also get some new GTS' in that range as well, they won't be as fast, but they come standard with more of the sport options and you still get the awesome 4.0V8.

Agreed they do—I'm a huge fan of their looks. But I'm inside it far more and that tech is 90's Fisher Price bullshit. It'd drive me up the wall eventually... possibly both figuratively and literally.

It's basically as fast as an M5 and the shifts, while aggressive, are lightning quick... almost/perhaps in PDK territory.

However, the ride is harsh as hell—stick with nice high-profile tires.

LOL—just mentioned that to John: sadly, no. It's nice enough on normally worn roads but when you encounter a pothole, you feel like the wheel's going to enter the cabin for a quick chat.
