How can he quantify that? Just because the compression is increased? Logic might support as such over a long long term of use. I have been lowering all my cars (30+) and never had a shock issue. One will get geometry change but unless you are putting a ton of miles that will cause extreme wear and tear you should be fine.

All 5 cars in my sig are lowered and I have the C63 BS for more than 7 years with no issues. The AMG GTS has been around for over 4+. Now granted these cars are not mileage whores so it all depends on how much driving you will do IMHO.

If the installer remove the bump stop, then yes, you are at risk for blowing the shocks.

The bump stop as its named after, is to stop the full bump which to avoid the shock to bottoms out.
You will notice it if you are riding on the bump stop at all time.
The ride will be very very stiff and harsh.

I got a chance to drive it thru some pretty curvy roads on the way home for about 40 miles and the car dynamics in regards to compression and rebound are pretty much equal to the F90. Im glad I did it and yes it took a while but when I did the F90 springs over a year ago- the M550i springs were not being done by enough owners for me to take a chance. I still am a bit angry at H&R for showing a drop of 1.2/1.2 on their site for the F90 set up. Why not just say it like it is: 1.2/0.6 .... anyways I digress cause Im happy.

Big shout out to Ben at RG Sport who sourced the springs in 24 hours and did the install in about 3. Very fast, professional, and extremely price aggressive. r33_RGSport Thanks again Ben and Ill be over there soon for more mods.
Looks great......how many hours labor did they charge you for installation

Vic55. Very nice look. I have been contemplating the same. Can you confirm that this was done with the H&R springs for the 550i, and NOT the OEM spring kit for same.....

Thanks!!

My labor was via a close contact so he just charged the net work time which was short of 3 hours.

Where is the best online source to purchase these springs and spacers? My M5 Comp arrives at the end of the month and I want to buy the parts before it arrives. TIA!

Why would the ride be stiffer? Stock 550i springs for a car that probably weighs slightly less than the M5, and isn't a performance model from BMW, would more than likely have a lower spring rate.

Weight is close but as you stated the rates could be higher on the M5 but then again these are aftermarket springs not OEM where we could check part numbers on the F90 vs the G30. The dampers really have alot of control here and Im actually down to Sport now vs. Sport Plus because the drop is more aggressive than stock or the F90 H&R's.

prodigymb

Id say its more bouncy on bad undulations for sure as the compression and rebound distances have been reduced and that hinders the damper. But the gain in form is great and in reality the OEM springs are bouncy too IMHO. On flat surfaces- the springs are great in Sport and the car feels fine.
