Escort 360c & all the tech in our cars....

Hi everyone,
I recently took delivery of an '18 M5 DG/AB and I have always been a V1 guy for the past 10+ years. I'm debating upgrading to something with GPS and a better companion app. The escort 360c caught my attention for overall sleek design, radar range, and the option to add laser jamming down the road. I would like to hardwire by my rear view mirror. I don't like the blendmount solutions.

My only hesitation is that I heard the gesture controls inside the car mess with the laser detection and causes almost all detectors to go crazy.

Is there a way to disable the laser on the detector so I do not have to tape over the gesture sensors? I'd like to keep that functionality for the time being.

Also do you think escort could code that into a firmware update to not cause the detector to go crazy?

I also have all the other bells and whistles in terms of driving tech. I'd imagine those all cause some false positives too right?

Can anyone give me some insight as to what life is like in an F90 with the escort?

Thanks!

Get an AntiLaser Priority system hardwired in. You control it with an app on your phone. Not cheap, but works great, and no interference with the gesture controls.

Right, but isn't that just for jamming laser?

What about radar?

They also have an integrated radar detector add on option, and I feel it works just as well as the escort 9500 I had on my previous M5

If you have the auto cruise control and driving assistance plus package, I don't know if that would interfere or not. I don't have that option, but the gesture controls don't interfere with my ALP system at all

Thanks for the tip. I do have the driving assistance plus package and auto cruise control. I can't imagine anything plays nice with all this tech. At least at this point..

Keep the V1 and put a small piece of tape over the gesture sensor. It's forward facing so you can't even see it.

The gesture control, IMO, is still a novelty. You have to do the movement in a very specific, small area for it to be picked up. At that point, your hand is virtually inches away from the knob to accomplish the same thing, or could have already been done on the steering wheel, or voice command.

I have the Alp laser system without radar and the escort max ci with jammers with display built into the mirror and it all works fine. No interference issues. Works great.

I don't have the 360 but do have the new Redline and a new IX. I have turned off Laser detection due to false alarms from smart phone screens in the cabin. OLED screens seem to be the worst offenders. It is very easy to configure Escort detectors via their app.
